reverse GEO lookup

I noticed an odd behavior when using GPS coordinates in an image to reverse-lookup localities.
The lookup generally finds the country, but for some reason does not add the Country code, why?

Re: :-) Interesting AI hallucination ;-)

No, Ollama AI models do not inherently self-learn from user interactions in the same way that some online AI models might.
Well, that seems rather unfortunate and not trivial at all.
It means you'll have that flying crocodile over and over again, even though you tell the AI that's not what that is ...

Re: :-) Interesting AI hallucination ;-)

That is actually quite funny...
I wonder what will happen if I throw some lichen images at the AI:
"Orange lichen = Landscape on planet Mars?"

Seriously:
I wonder, can the current implementation at all be used to actually train the AI?
What happens, if you now change the description and image ...

Re: Compacting Database Error Message

The real problem is the need of more than double of database while compacting.

And the real real problem is the lack of knowledge in database programming as there is obviously no optimisation during runtime.

Sad news for you, Link648099, you chose one of the poorest projects available. Run as ...

Re: Suggestion for autoclose?

Thanks everyone for their ideas/input/feedback.

If I want to start or end PSU, it should happen “now” and not after a long time

To clarify: of course I do not want this to happen when PSU starts. I mentioned in my original post that I would like to be able to schedule a task like compacting and ...

Suggestion for autoclose?

Not sure what people here think about an idea I just had.
Some routine tasks in PSu can take quite a lot of time, for example, compacting the database, backup, verifying folders and files and then importing new ones.
I'd like to run such tasks at the end of the day and when successful have the ...

Re: Marking photos and displaying the image data

I can confirm that this works perfectly here. No issues whatsoever.
Is it possible that you are trying to select images for which thumbs haven't been built?
Without the thumbnails the program indeed behaves rather sluggish.
Looking at most of your recent posts, I believe many of the glitches you ...

Re: Anyone who uses ON1 Photo RAW and PSU?

Personally I never quite liked Capture One, but I do use DxO PhotoLab a lot and it works well with PSU.
But I am still on PhotoLab 5, because I am not too keen on getting any database set up that I don't need. No idea, why all the raw editors these days seem to think they need to include a database ...

Re: GEO Tags

As I wrote the other day, Photo Supreme is not exactly the pinnacle of application development. Rather, it's a dismal, dismal lowland when you consider that the software is several years old and not an open source project that volunteers develop in their spare time.

If you find it so dismal, why ...

Re: Photo Supreme V2024 is released

I'll upgrade because I want to support the development of PS but I'm a little underwhelmed by the new features. It seems the last 2 versions really haven't added much that I use regularly. Improved performance is always nice but I was hoping for more.

Hi Wesstl,
rather than complaining that there ...

Re: Two problems with keywords after re-importing photos in a new catalog: #2, "zombie" favorite keywords

I guess the problem here might be this:
We all expect that a catalog can be re-created from the XMP metadata and that is how PSu advertises itself. But what happens if a catalog gets corrupted? Reading what Alain and Fabrizio experienced got me thinking...

In theory re-creating the catalog from XMP ...

Re: Portfolios and versions

Hi gcorbin,
I think it would be useful to have the option now in hidden in Preferences available directly from the menu bar, analogous to what is now possible in stacks.

Still, I think this doesn't quite address the differences between "stacks" and "versions".
Versions are (and always have been ...

Re: Portfolios and versions

Filter settings are a possibility. But then I would have to change the filter with every folder.

Hhhmm - I can see that this may be problematic in your current workflow. But I can also see, why it must be really difficult for Hert to accommodate everyone here. Different workflows and personal ...
