Re: Compacting Database Error Message
The real problem is the need of more than double of database while compacting.
And the real real problem is the lack of knowledge in database programming as there is obviously no optimisation during runtime.
Sad news for you, Link648099, you chose one of the poorest projects available. Run as ...

Re: Suggestion for autoclose?
Thanks everyone for their ideas/input/feedback.
If I want to start or end PSU, it should happen “now” and not after a long time
To clarify: of course I do not want this to happen when PSU starts. I mentioned in my original post that I would like to be able to schedule a task like compacting and ...

Suggestion for autoclose?
Not sure what people here think about an idea I just had.
Some routine tasks in PSu can take quite a lot of time, for example, compacting the database, backup, verifying folders and files and then importing new ones.

Re: Marking photos and displaying the image data
I can confirm that this works perfectly here. No issues whatsoever.
Is it possible that you are trying to select images for which thumbs haven't been built?
Without the thumbnails the program indeed behaves rather sluggish.

Re: Anyone who uses ON1 Photo RAW and PSU?
Personally I never quite liked Capture One, but I do use DxO PhotoLab a lot and it works well with PSU.
But I am still on PhotoLab 5, because I am not too keen on getting any database set up that I don't need. No idea, why all the raw editors these days seem to think they need to include a database ...

Re: GEO Tags
As I wrote the other day, Photo Supreme is not exactly the pinnacle of application development. Rather, it's a dismal, dismal lowland when you consider that the software is several years old and not an open source project that volunteers develop in their spare time.

Re: Photo Supreme V2024 is released
I'll upgrade because I want to support the development of PS but I'm a little underwhelmed by the new features. It seems the last 2 versions really haven't added much that I use regularly. Improved performance is always nice but I was hoping for more.

Re: Two problems with keywords after re-importing photos in a new catalog: #2, "zombie" favorite keywords
I guess the problem here might be this:
We all expect that a catalog can be re-created from the XMP metadata and that is how PSu advertises itself. But what happens if a catalog gets corrupted? Reading what Alain and Fabrizio experienced got me thinking...

Re: Portfolios and versions
Hi Michael,
OK - say, I have no idea of any other program that does...false impression - PSU is not the only program that knows and deals with both versions and stacks.

Maybe try merge instead?

Re: Portfolios and versions
Hi gcorbin,
I think it would be useful to have the option now in hidden in Preferences available directly from the menu bar, analogous to what is now possible in stacks.
Still, I think this doesn't quite address the differences between "stacks" and "versions".

Re: Portfolios and versions
Yes, I do :D. Just think of the same picture processed in color and B/W. Both not necessarily have to be rated the same stars. And color labels can be used in such a different & flexible manner, that this also easily can "fall apart" in version sets...

Re: Portfolios and versions
Imaging you have a version set with two images, one has a 2 star rating, and one has a 3 star rating.
When you select Ratings -> 2 Stars then you want to see the 2 star image

However, I have also version sets with jpg files developed from the same raw file in different ways. For these sets I would appreciate the possibility to turn on visibility of differently developed versions in all modes. A possible solution would be to define visibility of particular version ...
