Hello everyone,

As I wrote the other day, Photo Supreme is not exactly the pinnacle of application development. Rather, it's a dismal, dismal lowland when you consider that the software is several years old and not an open source project that volunteers develop in their spare time.

Geo-tags: before I import photos into Photo Supreme, I tag these photos with the GeoTag app. And completely randomly, about 90k photos are tagged and 165k photos are displayed as not tagged, even though they are. Why is that? Any solutions? As I said before: my confidence in buying an upgrade is tending towards 0.

Many thanks in advance!

Fun fact: the progress bar for the thumbnail job is already hanging on the left side again 🤡

Psu works you XMP metadata. If your app writes Exif but fail to update XMP if there is XMP then you will end up with discrepancies in your metadata where one tool shows Exif and another shows XMP. Be sure to always use tools that keep your metadata in sync at all levels.
In Photo Supreme you will typically be quickly confronted with metadata discrepancies.

Psu can fix this discrepancy that some tools create. Select thumbs, right click -> Metadata -> Convert metadata to xmp

If you find it so dismal, why do you even spend money on it ???
You can easily use one of all the many, many fantastic, free, and open-source alternatives instead of ranting here => irony, irony...and a bit of sarcasm: might it be possible that perhaps you aren't using all that fantastic freeware, because there isn't actually any out there?
Well - or perhaps your primary computer is a Linux Machine using digiKam?

I myself admit that I have very often been frustrated by things not working the way I want them to- Ever so often I discussed this with Hert, frequently complaining or even "ranting" about things that I thought had to be fixed. Hert has been unusually patient and although we still differ in some aspects of what I would prefer the program to do, I am also exceptionally grateful for all my suggestions that he did address (over the years).

The fact that Hert even responded to your post and made a constructive suggestion, illustrates his patience with people like you (or me) ranting. If it was me administering this forum, I would probably have just deleted your insolent remark. I would possibly even have considered blocking you from the forum.

Is it possible that you think Hert will pay more attention to your rants, the more you complain how bad the program is? Nobody forces you to pay for it or any upgrade. It's a free world, go use what you think works better. Or make constructive suggestions. Thank you.

I second fbungarz' defense of Photo Supreme. It is one of the two most used and essential programs I have.
