JPEG Exports from DXO Photolab 5 reading odd DPI's in the Info View of PS

Hi there,

My workflow I'm trying is:
- Import RAW to Photo Supreme
- Open RAW in DxO Photolab 5 via that option.
- Process RAW in PL5, Save as JPG version to same folder, set at 300 dpi
- Refresh folder in Photo Supreme, and then auto-version via the Detect feature.

That workflow works really well. However, I've encountered a bug where PS on its Info tab shows some crazy high DPI (like, in the billions) despite the fact the file itself is showing as 300dpi when inspected elsewhere.

Any idea what's causing this? the DPI are showing correct in other images (not from PhotoLab).

DPI is stored at different metadata levels and a tool updating the DPI is responsible to update all of these levels. The info panel shows you what is in XMP's tiff:XResolution field, displayed depending on XMP's tiff:ResolutionUnit field.

You can use right click on thumb -> Run script from repository -> Metadata -> Full Exif Dump

Can you copy/paste the result here (remove personal information if any)?

Tip: from your description it appears that DxO isn't updating the XMP resolution correctly. PSU can fix that for you by using right click -> Metadata -> Convert metadata to XMP. That will re-convert lower metadata levels to XMP, fixing discrepancies at metadata levels. This is especially helpful to fix metadata issues created by tools that update some, but not all, of the metadata levels.
Tip2: Also report this to DxO

I tried the above 'Convert metadata to XMP' tip, and unfortunately it didn't fix the issue. It did, however, remove the lens data, for some reason

Looking at the XMP tiff:Xresolution field, I can see it has very odd numbers stored. Unfortunately, they are not editable directly, unlike many of the other fields.

Thank you for the sample file.
I can now tell you what is in that box. It reads:

9830400/32768dpi

If you do the math then that comes down to 300 pixels per inch. It's untypical for the resolution to be written in such fraction, but that is still a valid way of writing a resolution.
PSU should have done the math here and show it on-screen as 300 instead of the fraction.
