Re: space needed to compact

Problem solved! Opened PS and got the update message. Updated to 7.4.0.4541. Ran Compact and it worked. Just a glitch between previous version and my system I guess.

Re: space needed to compact

I'm reading from the message Photo Supreme gives me, not from Windows Properties. It clearly says 151.9 TB to compact a 7.7 GB database and fails.See for yourself in the attached screenshot of the message. Just for fun, I created a new catalog with 20 images; yes two-zero images. Trying to compact ...

Re: space needed to compact

Congratulations! Unfortunately, that doesn't solve my problem. Photo Supreme message says it needs 151.9 terabytes to compact a 7.7 gigabyte file.

space needed to compact

I've seen many posts related to space needed to compact databases but not found a solution that works for me. As you can see in the attachment, Photo Supreme wants 151.9 terabytes to compact a 7.7 gigabyte file! If I did the math correctly, that's 21,000 times the size of the original file. Not the ...

Re: offline cataloguing workflow?

Toomas,

Copy the databases (catalog and thumbs) to the laptop, there work offline, come back home and copy the databases back to the main computer.

Hope that helps

Hert

Could these files be copied to the cloud, something like Dropbox, then copied to the main computer? This would also provide a ...

Re: GPS data and PSU

You are not looking in the right place. I don't have PSU in this computer, and can not tell exactly. But the geo location which I spoke about applies to catalogue labels, not to images. You should look for details of the catalogue labels . It is done in the left panel, right mouse click on a label ...

Re: GPS data and PSU

I just wondered if you or anyone else knew of a convenient way to transfer the coordinates that are already in the metadata from SU to Google Earth?

I do not know about Google Earth, but opening in Google Maps is possible, although it is very hidden in PSU. When you open calalog label > right ...

Re: GPS data and PSU

Hi Tom

I am afraid I must both agree and disagree with you here.

I also use Geosetter to tag my images and in Supreme the changes made in Geosetter are NOT automatically picked up by Supreme (unlike in V5). You need to manually "import" the changes made in Geosetter into Supreme. I think that ...

Also, being pedantic, folder management is not part of cataloging, but many people think it is part of digital asset management  .[/quote]

Ah. You've found the answer. Supreme is a catalog application and IDimager was/is a DAM program.

You may just need to move the "switch" on the left of the orange "display colour management" bar across to the right of its "slot".
Thank goodness for this forum! That was it. Where in the Supreme "Help" would I find this?

Thanks again.

Color mangement greyed out

Trying Photo Supreme on Windows 7, 64 bit. In Preferences, Color Management is greyed out not allowing me to make a change even though I have multiple profiles on the system.

How do I get Photo Supreme to recognize these profiles, .icc and .icm files, so that I can set the appropriate ones for my ...

Re: file-manager

PSU is a DAM tool, not a File Manager. Use a File Manager for this; for instance Windows Explorer.

Sorry Hert, but that's a ridiculous statement. File Management is part of the DAM process. DAM systems manages files so how the can you say File Manager is not part of a DAM system. It might not be ...
