Re: Write embedded metadata to HEIC files?
Done! Once implemented, it would also be nice to have a way to move XMP sidecar data into the HEIC files.

Write embedded metadata to HEIC files?
Can I configure Photo Supreme to write embedded metadata to HEIC files instead of making sidecars?

Re: How to retrieve altitude for multiple selected thumbs?
Now this is really interesting: I had set aside a group of images for experimentation with batch-lookup of altitude. For whatever reason, when I now try to manually retrieve the altitude in the GEO panel, it doesn't work. The coordinates are 64.150314 N, 21.930914 W, which are right at sea level ...

Re: How to retrieve altitude for multiple selected thumbs?
Elevation lookup on single images works perfectly, and all the images in question have a latitude and longitude.
Are you specifying an output folder, checking the box to import output, or checking any boxes under the "more" option?

Re: How to retrieve altitude for multiple selected thumbs?
Okay, I figured out the batch menu and found the GEO Lookup Altitude option. Seems like batch processing is geared toward creating modified versions of files vs. modifying files themselves. When I don't select an output folder, I get a pop-up that says "This batch has no output folder specified. The ...

Where do I find this batch command? I see "GEO Reverse Lookup Files" but not altitude.

Re: Maps elevation lookup fails after one use
The issue was that Google tied the billing info to "My First Project" instead of "Photo Supreme". It's not just a matter of (1) following the instructions in the video to create an API key and (2) giving Google your billing info, but you need to (3) make sure that they're correctly linked together ...

Maps elevation lookup fails after one use
My first elevation lookup from maps works, then next one pops up the attached error message.
I tried to set up a billing account, etc., but there's clearly something still missing.
Maybe we need a companion to the API key video but for setting up all the other backend nonsense with Google ...

Re: Photo Supreme star ratings in DxO Optics Pro
I haven't tested whether the recent version update to DxO rescans files for changes to star ratings. Previously, DxO only read the rating the first time it saw the file.

Re: Why Photo Supreme?
A couple reasons for me, in no particular order:
I use DxO for my raw raw processing, and PSU reflects basic DxO edits (rotation, cropping, etc.) when generating thumbnails for images edited with DXO in PSU.
Active forum with knowledgable users.

Re: Unable to clear State/Province
Wow—that did it! PSU had created some errant geocoding-related labels. Deleting them solved the problem. Thanks!
