V4 Pricing

Post by snowman1 »

Hert, suprised you didn't announce V4 in the forums? Anyway, a question re pricing - is there a discount, as has been the case in the past, for V3 licence holders, or is the only discount available the time-limited one that ends on Feb 20th?

And just for confirmation, I take it that as per previous practice V3 will no longer be actively developed or receive bug fixes?

Thanks

Both in the mail and on the site it is announced that v3 licence holders get a 30% reduction. Till Feb 20 on the reduced price.

Thanks KeesdH. I did not receive any email afaik, and that info is not on the home page nor the pricing page unless I missed it. It is referenced on the upgrade policy page, which is reached by a link from the bottom of the product page, which I found after searching harder when I read your post! (Did you ever read the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy - the bit about the notice of the hyperspace bypass?
“But the plans were on display…”
“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.”
“That’s the display department.”
“With a flashlight.”
“Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.”
“So had the stairs.”
“But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?”
“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.”
 )
Incidentally when I run the upgrade check within PSU it says no updates are available.
Anyway that's good to know, thanks, especially that it's on top of the Feb 20th discount.

Which is correct I mean, because its not a update for existing V3 Version. Is a new release which you can buy - upgrade to new version.

As a V3 license holder, how do I apply the 30% discount when purchasing a V4 license?

Hi Stubb,
you need to log into your account. cp.idimager.com and there you will see a coupon code...

At least that was how it worked for the last couple of years.

That did the trick! The process was obvious once I logged in there.

FWIW, I didn't receive any email or notification either. If I hadn't been paying attention to the forum, I would not be aware of a new version.

Tom,
is your email address that you need to log in into your account up to date?
Or maybe the email has been flagged as spam?
There are many reasons why you might not got the email.
Even some internetprovider do block mail from other countries. I have had this problem...

Cheers,

Michael,

My email is correct and has not changed since I originally purchased PSU. I don't see any mail in my spam folder but I have no way of knowing if Comcast blocked it for some reason. I just thought I'd mention this for Hert's benefit. If others are not getting emails, it could negatively impact the sales he gets for the new version. I would have expected to get some sort of notification from within PSU at least. I would think that Hert has a way to make that happen. When I check for updates it says that there aren't any. I realize that it is referring to V3 updates but maybe Hert has a way to get around that.

Thanks for trying to help.

I know, comcast is blocking many emails from Germany...
The reason, i went with a US internet and email provider :)

i am sure will Hert pick up this thread... maybe you send Hert your email address and ask him if an email went out to you or even not.

Unfortunately a lot of email servers these days scan the content of the email and determine based on AI if the content qualifies as spam or not. And they simply reject the email, it's not even delivered to your Spam box. Typically about 20% of all newsletters never reach the recipients.

I use a local email client to access my @outlook.com email. I had to use the webmail interface to find the notification which had been placed in junk mail. There is no way to turn this insanity off.

I have learned not to depend on email any longer. We used to use email at work for many marketing purposes but it has become less and less effective with servers blocking so much content and people ignoring it too. It only takes a few people to mark a message from a sender as spam to trigger mail servers to blacklist a sender's domain. It forces legitimate businesses to resort to some of the same tactics that malicious hackers are using just to get email to reach it's destination.

In any case, this is precisely why the Photo Supreme application itself is the best method through which to send out a notification of the new release.

Thanks for paying attention.

I did not know about the new version until yesterday when I saw the posts here on the forum.

On a hunch, I checked the spam folder in my ISP's e-mail web app, and sure enough, there was the newsletter, marked as spam. I moved to my in box and opened using Outlook 2010.

I am glad I saw the notice in the forum and found the newsletter before the 20 February discount cutoff. I have paid for Version 4 today, and will download it soon.

I agree it would be nice if notification of a new version is given to us from within PSu. I use PSu every day, but do not visit forum daily, and it is easy to miss an e-mail.

Hert, I just want to say thanks for a great product!
