Photo Supreme v2025 is released
Re: Photo Supreme v2025 is released
Anyone else having problems when selecting a Label entry from the dropdown list that appears either when adding a new Label or looking to Merge a Label into another ? Clicking the required entry in the dropdown list that appears isn't completing the field, you can manually continue to enter the full label name and it will then search/merge as needed.

Re: Photo Supreme v2025 is released
Not sure if this is a 2025 issue but I don't recall seeing it in 2024 but when using Details to view images by Exposure Time I'm noticing the numbers are way off. It appears that viewing images with an exposure time of 1/10 also includes those taken at 1/100 and 1/1000. Selecting 1/8 shows those taken at 1/80 and 1/800 etc. This prevents me from finding images taken at exact shutter speeds.
Re: Photo Supreme v2025 is released
Indeed, my Exposure times are all over the place as well! Nothing shorter than 1/10 and they all seem to be bunched under that.

I have the same as wesstl and Geoff... I know I have a LOT of 1/8000 and faster exposure times. I know this was OK in 2024.
Re: Photo Supreme v2025 is released
Of note, the reporting in the "detail" section is also strange
Re: Photo Supreme v2025 is released
Build 2025.0.1.7381 is now available to take care of a few teething problems in the initial release.
The main ones:
- Exposure Time was not properly displayed in the Details section (requires a database upgrade)
- Smoother overall operation
- Smoother scrolling in the Image Details when many of the sections are opened (lots of fields displayed)
- The "first day of the week", as configured in macOS, was ignored in the calendar drop down for date/time fields
- It was not possible to enter 12PM for countries that use the AM/PM indicator in their time format
- Improved Italian and German translations
- When renaming one file by double clicking on a thumb's file name then you can now optionally select a rename rule from the drop down (tip, use Alt+Down to drop open the field)
- And more
This is a recommended update. An in-app update trigger will follow soon. Until then you can download the update from the website:

The installation of the current update (Build 2025.0.1.7381) had to convert the entire catalog again - which takes some time. I hope that this does not happen with every update....

Ah ha. Thank you.G8DHE wrote: 19 Feb 25 22:07If they are allocated automatically and not under human control then the labels appear under the Category - "AI Labels" rather than as human selected Labels under the main Category titles.paulrbarnard wrote: 19 Feb 25 12:38 ... If I select a single image it gives suggested tags and I can select them but if I run with multiple images there seems to be no way to get the tags applied.
Re: Photo Supreme v2025 is released
I'm not sure exactly what the figure represents, but my initial use has been to determine which of several visually identical slow-shutter-speed low-light images are best focussed. Though as they are visually identical (so far the numerical difference has been tiny) it may not make much difference in practice. Any other thoughts?Hert wrote: 20 Feb 25 8:07 Tip; you can make the sharpness visible with a custom thumb line like the one below:Code: Select all
Sharp: %ImageSharpness{encode=html}
This variation was useful to trim the number of decimals (about the limit of my coding ability):
Code: Select all
Sharp: %ImageSharpness{left=4;encode=html}

Build 7404 is available.
It is a significant update for users of Photo Supreme on pre-Sequoia versions of the macOS in combination with a specific date/time formatting for their regional settings.
Apart from that it brings some improvements and fixes:

Thanks Hert for "7404; Added copy/paste shortcuts for catalog labels in the Label Assignment Panel".

Re: Photo Supreme v2025 is released
The first minor update for v2025 (2025.1) is here!
Here are two new features worth checking out:
Move and Rename Files: This new tool makes it easier to organize your files. You can move files from one place to another and rename them, helping you keep things neat and structured. You can find it in the Operations section when you right-click on a thumbnail.
Support for Google’s New Gemma3 AI Model: A new AI model called Gemma3 was just released, and you can now use it with Ollama. It’s more powerful than the other AI models available in Ollama, so if you use AI in Photo Supreme, switching to Gemma3 is a great idea!

Re: Photo Supreme v2025 is released
Now that 2025.1.0.7494 has been installed and the database has been updated, I tried the new AI using Ollama with Gemma3. When I try it on a few random images, I keep getting "Ollama error (response code=500). What does that mean and how do I resolve it?
