save on edit not working

I edited a photo by cropping and scaling, then saved the photo (via Save Image). The thumbnail looks correct, but the file has not changed. When I open the photo in the viewer, the recipe icon shows. It appears that Save Image is only saving the recipe, and not altering the file, which is what I want. Save Image As does the same thing.

On top of that, when I open the photo in the viewer, only the cropped image appears, not the scaling I applied to it. Though if I open the Scale interface, the changes I made are there, they are just not reflected in the image.

I tried this on multiple photos, but the result is the same. I edit photos in this manner often, but not for a few months, so I don't know how long it has been like this. I was on version 6344 when I did this. I've upgraded to 6355, no change.

I'm on an Intel iMac running the latest OS.

What is the file type you are editing? And as what file type are you saving?
I just tried it here and "Save Image" is saving with the recipe applied. It used a RAF file, added a crop, saved as a WEBP and the WEBP has the crop applied

These are all jpg images, and Save Image just overwrites the same file.

I couldn't tell from your response, but did you examine the actual file on the system (the Finder for the Mac)? After I save, I see both the Created and Modified dates are changed, so a save is occurring, but the image is not changed, so the crop is not saved to the file, it is only saved within PSu as a recipe.

Also, you didn't mention scaling. This is not even being saved within PSu as a recipe.

In regards to where I said scaling is not being saved, I just found that it is only scaling up that is not saved. Scaling down is saved. Regardless, it is still only saving as a recipe with Save Image, and not altering the actual jpg file.

I forgot to ask initially, but does anyone else see this behavior?
