Can't sync catalog and images

I am attempting to upgrade from PS2 to PS7. The old catalog seemed to convert properly. I then deleted all Folders/Files. I then had an empty database with all of the old Categories in it. I then created a test set of 300 old images. They all had hierarchical keywords and other metadata written in them. I imported them and everything looked good. I tried to change a few of the tags but was unable to get the catalog and images to sync. When I used ctl + s nothing happened.

Is there a simple way to move the Categories from my old PS2 catalog into a new empty PS7 catalog?? I think there may be some structural problems in my PS2 catalog that I need to eliminate in my PS7 catalog.

Help would be appreciated.
