Thank you Ian. The installation file is a standard macOS installation package. Could be that Apple doesn't show the folder selection again when the software is already installed.

Downloaded/Installed same day. The UI enhancements are nice. And although I did not think I needed it, the speed increase on background processes is very nice. :) Hert, thanks for the extra efforts.

The upgrade was worth every cent! This version delivers the Geo-fence search feature that I have been longing to see!
Thank you for continuing to develop PS, I could not manage my photograph collection without it.

I acquired v6 but I have been so busy doing other things that I don't think I got around to actually installing it. In the hope that I will be using it soon, I'm about to purchase v7.
What's the best process for moving from v5 to v7? Do I need to update to v6 before updating to v7?

Thanks Hert, that's good news! I'll go ahead and purchase v7 ... and hopefully will actually be using it soon. ;-)

I upgraded today. Given that this is a major version bump I was prepared for something unexpected, but the process went extremely smooth.
From the release notes: Added "Mirror File Read Only" setting in the Import Module - Thank you for this one, highly appreciated! :D

Just installed it. I like that one can now see ratings and color labels directly. Saves me some real estate, one less custom thumbnail caption and no longer finagling with the mouse to add ratings and color bars :)
Even better: so far no longer hanging upon restart (which was an almost daily nuisance recently) :D
Fingers crossed ...

But two-clicks to cascade metadata from the main version ...
REALLY ???
Is there no Shortcut for this, I use cascading from the main version all the time !!!
:(

EDIT:
Hhhm, now it behaves again as in the previous version. Odd. Ignore my comments...

I am REALLY happy that the hang on restart seems to be gone. And at least on my PC the application is a lot snappier...

Where can I find the information about how to work with this geo-fence search feature?

It's right click -> Show More -> Nearby Images

The GEO Tagging manual was just updated (chapter 2) with more info.

Well I've just downloaded and installed v7 for macOS. It seems a bit snappier and I really like the new thumbnail metadata display.

But ... I was working on a folder in v6, in which I created 2 stacks. In v7, while it opens with the exact same view I had in v6 yesterday evening, not only are the stacks not showing, but the folder count in the sidebar shows the number of files not in stacks. The stacked files appear to have vanished from the catalog (they are certainly still on disk).

I cannot immediately see any obvious way to get my stacks back....

@david; thank you for the compliment.

I assume you mean version sets (not the same as stacks). The version display default had changed. But in the next update the Version Display preference setting will return. Once this is released, don't forget to change the setting again to your preference.
