I've purchased PS 7, too, but I won't deploy it until I buy a new Mac Studio. I expect that the base model with 32 GB of RAM should be fine to simultaneously run PS 7 and DXO Photolab 5. If anyone believes otherwise, then speak up. Future RAM upgrades are not an option.

@Dismayed; Thank you for upgrading!

That's an impressive machine. The 32GB should serve you well for running PSU together together with other software.

As a recent purchaser, this is my first major upgrade to Photo Supreme.

Do I just download the new V7 installer and run it, and it overwrites the existing V6 installation? Or do I need to backup and restore my settings/database?

(I realise I need the new key as well)

@Blackrazor; Thank you for your continued support

First of all: when a new Main Version is released then typically the database needs upgrading. So always make a backup of your existing database beforehand.

To install a main upgrade:

0. Backup your existing database
1. Download the new installation file
2. Download your license file (if licensed)
3. If you are on Windows, then this is where you can uninstall the V6 application. macOS users skip this step as the old application will be overwritten with the new one.
4. Install the new main version
5. Start the new version
6. You will be asked to upgrade the database. Since you created a backup in step 0, you're good to go.
7. You will probably be in trial mode.
8. If you own a license then click the hamburger menu and select "Install my License File". Point to the downloaded license file

note: From V7 onward, the license file is no longer stored in the Documents folder. Instead it is copied to the "AppData" folder.

Does that help?

Hello Hert,

I have the impression that "quitting" V7 takes longer compared to V6 - Mac/Catalina. Just my impression or could there be a reason for that?

Sigi, in Photo Supreme there are many background processes running. So yes, you may be correct, depending on what is running. E.g., if you have the Image Viewer or LightTable open and close the app from there then it could take longer for the application to close when pre-loading in the background is ongoing.

Minor bug, the "What's new in Photo Supreme?" link in the lower left corner under the (?) symbol is a link to the last V6 update info!

Installed, one of the easiest installations including updating the licence. Not happy that it had to be installed on the Mac Mini drive with no option to install it on non Mac OS installed drives.. I have previous versions installed on a portable drive so I could take the whole system (photo catalogue as well) with me when travelling.
