Re: Workflow

"CaptureOne and PSu don't play well together"

I use C1 and PSU almost every day... They seem to play well together for me.

I first use PSU to import the card into the catalog to make use of those great auto-features in PSU import to catalog.

I am now off editing with C1...

The trick to make ...

Re: CaptureOne and Ratings

Note: Unfortunately, PSU only supports none, red, yellow, green, blue, and purple color tags (it does not support the orange color tag in C1)

This is because XMP standard means 5 colors and not 7 or more ;)

The questioned is about Capture One, which includes Orange.
(FWIW, some other ...

Re: CaptureOne and Ratings

I always import images using PSU.

Then in C1 Sessions, for my workflow, I sometimes do ratings in C1 (stars and color tags).
[I also tend to cull in C1.]

After I have done ratings and culling, in Capture One, I select the image (or images); Rt. Click; "Sync Meta Data"

Next, in PSU, I right click ...

FWIW, In my case, I see only Lat/Long impacted by the "count but no images" bug for 7454. (Reported same to TechSupport
Always good to do a compact database just in case. YMMV

v2025: Best part... the speed increase!

Went on a photo trip (Eagles on the Mississippi River) and came back with over 5,000 images. Ingested, culled, keyworded in the new PSU2025.

Local AI and Google Vision AI worked as expected. Additional management of keywords is required to avoid the dreaded Misc category. AI options are usable and ...

Public Service announcement on running ollama

Using the directions from the Feb 20, 2025 version of: https://manualsu.idimager.com/version10/QuickStart-SetupOpenAIAPI.pdf

The steps 3 and 4 suggest running these commands from the command line.
ollama pull llava
ollama run llava

One small tweak.
To run those commands, you must use the CMD in ...

I have the same as wesstl and Geoff... I know I have a LOT of 1/8000 and faster exposure times. I know this was OK in 2024.

My update has started, too.

Any examples into how long it took to update in a ratio format...
eg, "1hr per 100,000 images"

Re: Two or more metadata edits in quick succession possibly causing OneDrive sync erors

Sorry that I am not able to help.

I solved a similar concern in a totally different way. In my case, about 12TB+ of photos seems unreasonable in OneDrive, I went the NAS route which has its own costs and complexities. I have a NAS (with RAID) synced to a backup NAS to avoid multiple levels of ...

Re: Two or more metadata edits in quick succession possibly causing OneDrive sync erors

May be worth a test that includes closing PSU (in case that hasn't been tried) as that insures all the lazy DB writes are complete and any PSU locked DB files are released. Maybe also include a confirmation that OneDrive has finished syncing after file transfer before restarting PSU. (Not a solution ...

Re: Two or more metadata edits in quick succession possibly causing OneDrive sync erors

I see. I apologize for missing the part of the staging folder.
When transferring the folders from the staging folder, have you closed PSU thus insuring any delayed reads/writes are complete? If not, it is worth a try as a troubleshooting step.

May also want to try copying the entire folder (instead ...

Re: Two or more metadata edits in quick succession possibly causing OneDrive sync erors

FWIW, it is not a good practice to use software that requires frequent data-to-disk transfers on a cloud drive. A good example are applications that do frequent adjustments to a database. The reads/writes combined with a folder sync and unavoidable network delays are bound to have timing hiccups ...

Re: “Continuing the import for 63 files” won’t go away!

Are they TIF (or TIFF) files by chance?

I had a similar problem as described. In my case the TIF files were not readable by PSU and a couple other applications. However, they were readable by the application that generated the TIF files. I deduced this to mean the originating application did not ...
