Copying Color Labels and Folder States

Post by Roman »

I am in the process of restructuring my file system by merging two disks onto one disk and then creating a new merged catalog. The file system merge consisted of adding individual "year" folders under one root folder. I created the merged catalog by importing the new file structure using the "Import Folder" method into a new, empty database. This appears to have worked except that I have lost the color labels and folder states of my images (see screenshot)

I have access to the original catalogs prior to merging which have the correctly assigned color labels and folder states (see screenshot)

I was wondering if there was a way of exporting just the color labels and folder states from the original catalogs, and then importing them into the new merged catalog?

Have you looked at the Script Resources maybe something like https://repository.idimager.com/openres ... BA39394939 would be suitable to Export from the previous version and then Import into the New structure, but take care with having backups of course!

Thanks for the suggestion, Geoff.
I did consider that script, but thought it did an export and import of the whole catalog. I will try it out on a test database to see how it works.

Did a test of the script on an empty database and it did what I expected, the whole catalogue structure was imported.
