browsing files before importing

How can I browse files (on a sdcard) before importing selected ones in my catalogue ?
I do sportphotography and shoot a lot of photos. I want only a selected number of photos in my catalogue: I want to browse my sdcard, select photos which I want and then import/copy the photos on/in my storage device (and catalogue).

The Catalogue can't know what is on the card until it has imported them. Then you could inspect and delete those not required, before labelling them etc. Otherwise the only way you can see what is on the card before importing them is to open an Explorer window to view them ?

I think i'll use Faststone Image Viewer (very fast for viewing and labeling) and then delete all without labeling, and the importing/copying into PS. I think this is the shortest and most fast workflow.
