Moving files on filesystem and out of catalog

Post by ajjackson »

Hi

New to Photo Supreme, coming from Lightroom. I'm working with a test import and catalog subset of my full collection.

At some point in the past I imported all my iphone photos into my lightroom catalog, filing them alongside my other photos in my filesystem (Photos/YYYY/YYYY-MM-DD/filename organisation) as part of the Lightroom import.

In photo supreme I have made a test import of just the last couple of years photos, and I have figured out how to filter out just the iphone photos, using "Filter by Macro" on technical details:Camera Make. Which is great.

Now I'd like an operation on those images that will move them out of my existing hierarchy and into a separate iPhonePhotos folder, but keeping the YYYY/YYYY-MM-DD/filename structure.

Is this possible? Or am I going about this the wrong way? Is there a way to filter on import so that I could leave them where they are and just create a separate "folder"in photo supreme for just the iPhone photos?

Thoughts? What is the "right" way to handle this.

As a side note, is there a good way to deal with the "live photos" that are HEIC+MOV+(sometimes)JPEG stacks? I saw that there is a repository script for HEIC+MOV, but it crashes photo supreme whenever I run it.

Cheers

A warm welcome to the forum.

If I understand your question correctly, you should be able to "Cut" a folder in FOLDERS by right clicking on it. Then on the new target folder, right click and "Paste"

You should be able to stacking for your "HEIC/MOV/JPG photos (I'm an iPhone user myself). By default the stack detection rule (Preferences -> Catalog) is for a 10 second frame. Change that by selecting "Identical File Name" from the drop down. Then do the stack detection.

Is that what you need?
