Problem with slideshow and image viewer

Post by Le_Lion_07 »

Hello from France.

During slideshow (or when using image viewer), some of pics come from the database (image preview), not directly from the file itself. See the screenshot.

The size of the image preview is : 640 pixels.
In options, « Load full size image » is active.

It happens only sometimes.
If « Enlarge images that are smaller » is check, the image is blurry.

Quid ?

That typically indicates that the link to the file is incorrect.

1. Check in Folders if there is a top level root folder that has a red icon
2. Make sure that you are not in Travel Mode
3. Right click on the file and check if the option "Locate in Windows Explorer" (Windows) or "Locate in Finder" (macOS)
4. Check if the file exists on disk

Hello Hert.

No red icon, in any folder.

For image PH_05570.jpg (from the fisrt screenshot), « Locate in Windows explorer » works fine.

From PH_05570.jpg (for instance) : if I click on < to go to PH_05569.jpg, then click on > to PH_05570.jpg again, PH_05570.jpg is shown correctly (in full format).

Ctrl+9 (Windows) or Cmd+9 (macOS) is Zoom Best

Did you also check the pixel dimensions of the original file? Maybe this is the full size image?

For PH_05570.jpg, the original file is 4855 x 3181 pixels, the link to the file is right.

Then I have no ideas left.
Does it always happen for this file?

No, it happens for any file, not always, from time to time, it is impossible to predict.

When using the viewer, I just have to change the photo (previous or next one), then when go back to that one which was small, then all is right (full screen). But with the slideshow, it is a little bit more uncomfortable...

It seems that I I have a similar problem:
viewtopic.php?t=32163
But in my case PSU switches from full size images to stored previews after exactly 45 images.

Can you check this in build 4888? You can download it from the website or Control Panel

Build 4888 works as expected and does not switch to stored previews anymore. Thank you, Hert!

Same problem.

For exemple, with a serie of 58 photos, the problem occurs from n°13 (and next ones). Trying again with the same serie, it happens with n°21. As I said previously, it is impossible to predict.

I tried again to-day : still same problem, at any time, with no reason (?)

It happens both with slide show or viewer. Note that once it happens, all the following pictures are reduced.
