Hi, I want to restructure my file management. Instead of having all data on every computer (three) and synchronize, I would like to setup a NAS.
- If I am the only one working in this scenario, do I need the server edition?
- If I want to leave home for longer I will syncronize NAS with the laptops local drive to take all data with me. Can I use the database in the same way or will PS ask for the not existing path?

Do I need server edition?
Re: Do I need server edition?
You can use the single user version over the local network, it won't be as fast as having the images on the local drives. Accessing a single copy of the database is likely to be even slower if you have a lot of images.
Trying to keep both the databases and the images themselves in sync. across several machines could well be arduous and time consuming! I keep a much smaller copy of images on my laptop usually just the last 12 months, and then sync the images locally, and import into separate databases on my office machines.

Hi Geoff,
that is what I try to avoid, to have subsets of data (there is an exception for the data concerning my customers, they have there own partition and catalog).
I will buy a larger SSD first before I am forced to split . Otherwise I will make mistakes in BackUp and synchronizing routines.
