How to keep metadata when converting images?

How do you share your photos? I have problems doing it in the right way and would like some advice.

I want to share a lot of photos with a large group of relatives using Google Photos. The images are all in Photo Supreme with very good metadata, but when I upload them to Google Photos a lot of the metadata disappears. I have some of the same problems with sites like Onedrive and Zenfolio.
- Some are in PNG-format, which doesn't contain metadata in the file but in an XMP-sidecar, which Google Photos and others apparently doesn't read.
- Some are in TIF-format, which Google Photos doesn't read. When I convert to JPG with Irfanview or Lightroom the metadata seems to disappear. In Onedrive and Zenfolio the files do upload but as far as I can see without most metadata.
- Only the JPG's seem to work as wished on these sites.

I would at least like the capture-date, headline, description and hopefully also the keywords to hang on the image.

Can Photo Supreme help in this situation?

(One solution may be to convert all files outside of PS, import, include each photo in a version-set, cascade the metadata from the original, and upload the JPGs to the web. But it seems like a very slow and tedious process if you must do it manually with each of several hundred images.)

I hope some of you can help me towards a solution.

Yes, all images are fully versioned, metadata has been cascaded and the metadata is saved to the files.

When you export files with PSU (Ctrl+E on Windows or Cmd+E on macOS) then you can determine which of the metadata remains in the file. But you probably already know that. You say that these services are removing the metadata from your files. Of course PSU has no control over what other products/services do with files. But first make sure that the file you are uploading does contain the metadata.

I don't think the services remove the metadata, but they are not able to use the sidecar-files for the PNG-files. And some of them - maybe Onedrive - can only use one of the "wrong" dates for sorting - not the capture date, that I have entered manually.

Does anybody know of a converting program that keep the metadata in the file (PNG->JPG and TIF->JPG)? That could be a solution.

Forgot to mention; right click on the icon for "Copy as JPG to Folder" and select "Details" to configure it the way you want

As a veteran user of IDI and PS I feel somewhat stupid for not knowing this, but to my defense I can say, that I don't have the "Copy as JPG to folder"-option i my share window - see image below. ("Kopier til mappe" is danish for "Copy to Folder")
I don't know if I have deleted it accidentally or what has happened.

I have tried to create the function as a new profile, and it seems to work. I figured that the trick is in the naming of the file extension, this will trigger the conversion. Is that correct? Or is there a better way to get the original profile back into my share window?

(I use PS6, latest update, single user version. Windows 10 latest update)

You are correct Jesper. The file extension is what triggers the conversion. Define the rename as:

Glad to hear your issue is resolved. Before I use an online jpeg compressor tool to convert and compress images while keeping the metadata. It's an easy tool that helps keep the data safe when changing formats like PNG to JPG or TIFF to JPG.
