Hi there,
On viewing photos subsequently, in both of two modes, the 8G RAM of my sony vaio gets filled to the brim. It doesn't seem to clean up when closing the files.
It Is especially filling up fast when viewing D800 files, off course.
I did a test, when running only PhotoSupreme (2.2.5.xxx), which normally consumes about 20% RAM, and looking into 100 pictures the Ram is filled to 90~95%. Looking further WIndows will suggect to close down PhotoSupreme. When closing Photosupreme, it rapidly goes down to a normal value.
Is there a solution available?
Or is it a bug of PhotoSupreme? Or windows?
Perhaps there is a reference on the forum? I - non native - didn't find a match on this User Forum on Ram filling and overflow.
thanks,

You're reporting this for 2.2 but the latest version is 3.1. Does it also happen there?

Re: RAM filling on view
Hert, I just ran a quick test using the latest build of V3.
I opened a folder of 24Mpx NEF images. I double clicked the first image and then viewed 60 images in rapid succession....
CPU usage never went above 80% (i5 quad core, 3.3GHz)
Ram usage only increased by 2% and always dropped back once the image was fully loaded (16GB DDR3).
So, at least with my PSu build on my machine, I am not seeing what the OP is.

Re: RAM filling on view
I reported this issue last year in Mantis 0002684. My observations might be useful.

Sorry for getting ill, and forgetting this file.IDimager wrote:You're reporting this for 2.2 but the latest version is 3.1. Does it also happen there?
The urgence appears lower than I thought... finding different work-arounds for what I was doing: selecting in low grade sorted directories in Nikon ViewNX rather than on sorted subsets of photos in ID-I or PhSup.
(comparing different photos of different individuals of specific sorts of plants, animals, etc.)
I do not own version 3.1. I own a three year old vaio i7 quad core, 2,0 Ghz, 8GB Ram, and new ssd drive.
ID-I version 5 did show problems on viewing only 3 subsequent D800 files, which was the reason for me to move to Photo Supreme. Improvements on version 3 look interesting, but version 2 is sufficient for me.
