Looking for some help or thoughts.
I have created a portfolio collection that I sync with Flickr that contains 3,500 pictures.
I edit a picture that is in the collection in PS and publish the picture to Flickr but not via the Collection Flickr sync feature.
As you would expect I now have two of the same picture in Flickr. One that is synced with the PS collection and now a second one which is not in sync with PS. This is what I expect.
The next part of my workflow is to remove the photo from the Portfolio Collection in PS and then run the Flickr sync command on the PS portfolio collection.
I expect the original synchronized photo to now be removed from Flickr and thus leave only 1 photo still on Flickr. The issue is that the photo is not being removed from Flickr even though it is no longer in my synchronized portfolio collection.
Do you think that possibly the 3,5000 pictures is too much for the sync process? I had tried this workflow process earlier on a much smaller synced portfolio and it worked as I expected.
Thanks for any insights or help anyone can provide.
Flickr Sync - not removing synced photo
Re: Flickr Sync - not removing synced photo
PSU keeps one reference to the file on Flickr and if you upload it separately, like you did, then that is the last known reference for PSU and it won't know about the file in the portfolio anymore,

Re: Flickr Sync - not removing synced photo
Thanks for the reply Hert but I don't think that is the behavior I am seeing. To test things out again,I created new collections but put no more than 500 pictures in each collection. Now when I follow the process above, when I remove the picture from the PSU collection and then perform a Sync with Flickr, the picture is removed from Flickr. It feels like it has something to do with the large collection size I was using before.
It appears that PSU is keeping track of the originally synced file in the PSU collection and is aware of that connection to remove that original picture even when I upload the same picture a second time. Note that when I upload the picture a second time it is not via the syncing of the PSU collection process but rather a standard one time upload through the Share options. Make sense?

Re: Flickr Sync - not removing synced photo
Ok, when I thought about it, it made the most sense to me that the separate upload had the reference overwritten.
Maybe Flickr does have a pictures per photo set limit? I'm not a Flickr expert myself but I remember that there used to be a limit for "free" Flickr users
