Adding Catalog Category items

I am viewing all photos in the catalog that have been assigned to a category "People - unassigned"

I now want to assign a number of different people categories to the photo. Some of these people do not currently exist in my catalog list down the left hand side so I need to ctreat them on the fly.

The problem I have is as I identify people in the photo I go to the Catalog column and right click on a category group and select "add item". In the pop-up box I add the persons name and select "Apply"

Great, the person is added to the group but then as soon as I select "Apply" the thumbnail list jumps to the newly created item which has no photos assigned to it (because it's just been created)

I then have to select "People - Unassigned" and scroll back through to find the photo again, assign the newly created person category and then repeat the process again for the next person identified in the photo who does not, as yet, have a category listing.

Is there a way to stop jumping to the newly created category item when I click "Apply" or is there a better workflow that I shold follow?

Okay, I found it. Add the category items in the search bar at the top of the 'Assign' window down the left hand side.
