Portfolios

What is a simple way to add photos to a portfolio? - when switching to Portfolio view all photos disappear so "cannot drag and drop".

Copy/Paste is the easiest

Could you allows us to drag pictures (or folders to create a collection) on to a portfolio in the favorites list? This might be more intuitive then copy/paste.

You can drag to the Image Basket and then click on the Image Basket button's down arrow to add to or create a new Portfolio Collection.

Both methods given above work but are rather "clunky". I will stick to the method I was using - catalog set to Portfolio view, use the search bar to find the images required, select them and drag and drop into the relevant Collection.
