Feature requests and Bug reporting

Post by Hert »

Feature requests and bugs for Photo Supreme can be reported in the Mantis Bug Ticketing system;

http://mantis.idimager.com
A separate registration is required.

Whenever you report a bug, make sure that you verify first that you're using the latest version of the application and that the bug also exists in this latest version. Do this with Tools->Check for Updates on Windows or Photo Supreme->Check for Updates on Mac.

Please perform a quick search for the core of your request/issue before starting a new ticket. This just in case its been reported before.

Always report a single/isolated issue in a single ticket. If you have multiple issues then create a single ticket per issue. Don't group them together. This is to prevent that single issues inside such a ticket get overlooked and lost when the ticket is closed.

Also don't use error descriptions as "and so on" because that is not something that can be fixed. Be specific and try to enter a description that allows someone else to reproduce the issue. Also provide examples where possible.

Thank you

Hert, I've registered, in order to report a bug, but I can't seem to be able to select the PS project in order to report the issue?

I have to add the project by hand. You should be able to see the project now

Thank you, Hert.
Can you explain how we should use the tracker and this forum: Does it mean this forum should no longer be used for reporting and discussion of bugs? How about feature requests?
Can I expect to get any response in the tracker regarding the reported issue, or do I need to open a thread on this forum for that?

Dmitri,

Feature requests and bug reports should all be entered in Mantis. Please don't report several issues in a single ticket. This is to prevent that single issues inside such a ticket get overlooked and lost when the ticket is closed.

Also don't use error descriptions as "and so on" because that is not something that can be fixed. Be specific and try to enter a description that allows someone else to reproduce the issue. Also provide examples is possible.

May I also suggest that a quick search for the core of the issue be done before reporting just in case its been reported before.

Although Geoff re reporting that snap to didn't work DID get the issue solved :-)

If Geoff would have posted a comment in the old issue then the result would have been the same ;)

Can you point me to the old ticket so I can resolve that too?

I'll add you comment about searching

Thanks

Trying to find out if an issue has already been reported is not always easy.

I wanted to report the issue with the fact that the app window didn't resize, so I searched for "resize" in the Mantis reports and found nothing relevant. Later, I discovered that the Windows 7 "snap" behavior wasn't working, so I added the note to my issue. If only I had searched for "snap" in the first place, I would have found issue 0000996...

Geoff,
If you can't find a earlier report, just report the issue...
I don't spend a lot of time searching either :) Search time and report time needs to be in relation.
Hert, can always merge them in case the issue has been reported already.

Today is the last day of the "demo"-license and so I tried the newest version of ps. I still have the same problems to rescan my folders. Freezing after 5 minutes (Win 7 64) and I have to terminate the application. It was a huge folder, but I already manage this with Microsoft Expression, IDimager 5 and iMatch (last one without pdf-preview, because the was also a freezing every now and than). Maybe the same pdf-issue have photosupreme?

Menace, if you need more time to evaluate PSU, you could contact Hert and ask him to extend the demo-license...

Hello Michael,

thank you, but I think this is not necessary. I just want to try out again the latest version of PS but it seems it doesn't work for me. I work with IDimager and wait for the beta of iMatch. After this, I'll decide with software I will choose.

BTW: It needs month until a IDimager version could index this folders (a lot of problems) without to freeze or stop it after every now and than. I don't want to start from the beginning and try again versions after versions until all problems are solved.

Before reporting issues, please make sure that you verified that the issue is reproducible in the *last available* version.

Thank you
