Missing Catalogdetails after importing IDI5 Database

Post by gkaudewitz »

Hello together,

in IDI I made catalog lables covering nearly all countries in the world.
I made some synonyms and used XMP Details for inserting the three letter ISO-Country Code to the IPTC-Field "Country Code".
After converting the database to supreme the field "Apply detail Profile" is activated but when checking the field this information has disappeared.
Is this a normal behavior to "simplify" the complexity of the database for future releases or is it possible that I made a mistake?

Best regards

Hi Georg

To quote Hert:
"The data stored in the details is, unfortunately, not compatible with PSU. " (Mantis 324)

When talking about converting labels with XMP Details from V5.

You have to re create each and every one.

Hi Mike,

thanks for the reply.
But I'm a little bit disappointed for two reasons:
1.) It was hard work to create the catalog lables for countries and other lables where I used XMPdetails
2.) If there is a "similar" feature and the database could be converted this loss of information in the convertingproces isn't a userfriendly "feature"!

Bets regards

Mike, that is incorrect. This was supported later by releasing a new IDimager V5 update that changed how the details were stored in the V5 database so that PSU would be able to read it. Requirement is that you *must* use the latest IDimager version for the details to come through.

How does anyone get the latest IDimager version if they don't already have it?

Hello Hert,

I'm using IDI 5.1.3.6 but the XMP-Details are not present at PhotoSupreme

By downloading it from the Control Panel at https://cp.idimager.com The link is provided in the far right column of your license.

Hello Hert,
I did two things to verify the behavior of catalog lables after importing a IDI database:
1.) I updated to Photosupreme 1.0.5.57
2.) I copied my IDI database from IDI 5.1.3.6 to my testdirectory for PhotoSupreme
After finishing the conversion of the database there was the same problem with catalogentries as before.
Synonyms are transfered but the XMP Details are lost.
As you say this should not be normal behavior or can You reconstruct this problem.

Georg,

Can you send me your V5 database (so the file from *before* the conversion to PSU? No need for the thumbs database, just the catalog database file.

Thank you
