Is anyone running PSU from an external hard drive? My computer is a 2022 MacBook Air with a 500 GB SSD drive, and I'm starting to run low on hard drive space. I have about 100,000 assets in PSU, mostly image and video files plus a few PDFs and other documents; all are stored on an external SSD.
Before I started using PSU, I had 195 GB of free space on my internal SSD; I'm now down to 90 GB. And I still have about 30K more images to add to PSU. To free up internal hard drive space, I'd like to move PSU to a dedicated external SSD. Has anyone else done that? If yes, has PSU worked OK for you? Any speed issues? I've been using a Samsung T7 external SSD for a couple of years and have been happy with it, but I'm open to suggestions for others.
Running PSU from External Hard Drive?
Re: Running PSU from External Hard Drive?
I do. I have a mac-mini M4 Pro with an external 4TB SSD - a very fast one (https://www.owc.com/solutions/express-1m2). I have the app itself on the internal HD and the database with around 50.000 pictures on the external SSD. No problems sofar.
Re: Running PSU from External Hard Drive?
Thank you; that's encouraging. I'll go ahead and give it a try.
