something broke

It was about time I created a backup after settling into the current version, 2025, and all synching was completed.
After almost 6 hrs, it had not finished but the status bar had stopped moving.
The application was not responding so Task Manager was called in to end it all.
After a reboot, I attempted to start PhotoSupreme and I saw IDImagerSU.exe stayed running as a background process but didn't open on screen.
Move waiting and nothing was happening.
Took a drastic measure and reinstalled it in case a file got corrupted. The installer finishes and offers to start the app. It was supposed to create a desktop icon but didn't and the app never starts, it stays as a background app. Mostly it sits in memory not doing anything but occasionally there is some CPU and disk activity for a few seconds and then all is quiet again.
The current catalogue with over 400k of images was preserved as a local file.
I'll let it run overnight in case something happens. Is the desk icon only created once the app opens? Is the existing catalogue being processed as a background process without opening the app? Some feedback would be welcome.

After running overnight, the app finally appeared. Subsequent shutdowns and restarts are faster but there is still a 3-4 sec delay before the main screen appears with nothing to show that something will happen.
Also found the desktop icon, hiding in plain sight in one corner among other icons.

Wow. 400k photos makes my almost 200k photos seem tiny. I need to get out and photograph more.

There are certainly (frustrating) times with the user interface can become unresponsive, and appears to freeze (from a WIndows operating system point of view). Even doing a compact has similar results. If you task swap to another (WIndows) process then back to PSU the whole screen may not be refreshed for a long time. During this time I can only trust the task manager/ Sysinternals Process Explorer to show that PSU activity is still occuring, and "have faith" it will eventually complete
