Metadata for HEIC files is "saved to files" via menu and cmd-S. ON1 does see the keywords and star ratings, but Graphic Converter does not AND Apple Photos (which is where I also store exported compressed files) live. The option to "Convert Metadata to XMP" apparently does not work with these HEIC (iPhone) files. Accordingly, after several hours of work in PSu, I will have to duplicate efforts in Apple Photos unless there is a solution. Raw files naturally do have xml files that are read by Apple Photos etc.
I would be grateful to know if there is any solution to this before replicating my work.

No export of HEIC metadata to xml
Re: No export of HEIC metadata to xml
Are you looking to get XMP sidecar files? If so, select Run Script from Repository > Metadata > Export to sidecar XMP file
Re: No export of HEIC metadata to xml
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I assumed that "Convert Metadata to XMP" does mean create an XMP file inside the same folder as the original file. If that is not what it is intended to do, then WHAT is it intended to do? I am happy to do as you recommend, however I have not found the "Repository" area for these scripts. I will explore further, but any clarification would be appreciated.

Re: No export of HEIC metadata to xml
Hert wrote this in a previous thread. It should help to explain that command.
“First use "Metadata -> Convert metadata to XMP" to make sure that your XMP metadata is the same as the Exif (many tools fail to update XMP)”
Right-click an image to get to the Run Script from Repository menu item. If for some reason the Export command is not there, the repository is here:

If you're not seeing the Repository in PSU then check that
1. You have the repository enabled in Preferences -> Other Settings -> Integrate Online Repository
2. If that is enabled and you still don't see it then make sure that you have active internet access
3. If enabled, and internet, check that your firewall is not configured to block Photo Supreme from accessing the internet
