catalog people label thumbnails

Post by vkfoto »

Now that I have identified and confirmed quite a few people in many images, is there a way to export a list of people with their associated image as well as a list of the pictures where they are found?

Would be an interesting exercise, my best to date is to use Batch mode and add a Border and a Caption with relevant info from the Metadata to the image itself.

I am not sure if I correctly understand what you are trying to do, but if you open the categories tab, display all people photos (click on the image count of the People label), change the thumbnail view to grid (click on the Thumbnail Style icon, the second icon from the left below the list of images, and select Grid) and right click on the grid column names to select the columns you want displayed. Does this give you what you are after?

If not, once you get this list, what will you do with it? This might make it clearer to me what you require.

When I look in the People section of the Catalog tab, just to the left of each name is a small thumbnail. In the Details of each name, the specific thumbnail to be displayed can be selected.
What I would like to produce and print is a list of the names with their associated thumbnail.

Then when I'm labelling new pictures and I''m not sure exactly which person is in the image, if I have previously identified it, one look at the printout could confirm it rather than relying just on my memory.

As a bonus, another list would show all the images that were confirmed to contain each name, either the folder or the actual image name.

Attached is a script that creates a simple HTML dump for your Catalog Labels from the People category that have an image in front of them. It should open in the browser, where you should be able to print it.

[edit hert]
I have submitted the script to the Repository.

vkfoto, now that you have a list of faces and names, courtesy of Herts script (thank you Hert for your excellent service) I don’t understand the second half of your question.

You want a list images for a person. This can easily be done by clicking on the appropriate people label on the categories tab. You can change the thumbnail style by clicking the “Thumbnail Style” icon below the image list to thumbnails of various formats or even a grid showing a tiny icon plus text columns of your choice.

If you want to get a copy of the photos to use externally, you can “share” to export the photos to you desired destination using your desired format, desired naming, etc. Share is very powerful when you look at all the functions it can perform.

You can even launch your photos in an external program by configuring External Applications in settings of PhotoSupreme and then clicking the external application icon after selecting one or more images.

Does this help or are you trying to do something else I missed?

I had overlooked the many things that Share can do, will have to give it a closer look.

On a related topic, I noticed the just because an image has been assigned to an area, it is not confirmed until I expressly do that extra step.
1 can multiple images be confirmed at the same time?
2 besides adding it to the list of images displayed beside the people names in the catalog, does confirming do anything else?

I can't address #1, but as for what confirming does, Hert answered that in this post from last March (which, coincidentally, you started)
viewtopic.php?p=136786&hilit=confirm#p136786

"In addition, if the AI has chosen a correct name then you don’t have to confirm. Confirmed face are used as references going forward. In other words; a confirmed face is what teaches the AI who is who and based on that it will pick a name automatically.
In the details of a person’s catalog label you can see the confirmed faces for that person."

There is also a good description in the Artificial Intelligence manual, which includes this paragraph:

"A “confirmed face” means this face will now be used as a reference for recognizing this
person in future images. When another image with a detectable and matching area is found,
Photo Supreme will automatically identify it as the same person."

In addition to my previous answer, as linked by roddyt:

It is also not necessary to "confirm" every face area on the image.
If a detected area has already been accurately recognized based on previously confirmed faces, there is no need to confirm that area again.

The script is now submitted to the Repository:

And I've created a second one to list all confirmed faces:
