Image order of version set

Post by Thargor »

I want to see my edited images as front image in a version set.
As far as I understand, the image shown in front of a version set is the "main image" (unless you click on another numbered icon of the version set).

Therefore I set the following version set order: my edited image (*_DxO.jpg) as main image, then Camera JPG (*.jpg), then the raw file. This works if all three version images are already present.

Normally I start with only the Camera JPG and the Camera RAW file. During import everything is put in a version set automatically. Then i edit selected images with DXO Photolab and save additional *_DxO.jpg in the image folder.
Back in Photo Supreme I need to do a quick folder check, Photo Supreme does find the added images into the correct version set (if the option version set is set).
But unfortunately the order isn't correct (main image is not the new edited *_DxO.jpg).

What I have to do is to "delete version-set" and then version detection again. Then the correct order is established.

I am not sure if this is a bug or if this is the desired behaviour. In my understanding it should create the correct order during the "folder check and add new images procedure" - without doing the the delete version set and version detection procedure.

Am I missing something? Am I the only one who wants to see the edited images as front image in the display?

Hey,
Have you tried changing the default behavior in Photo Supreme's version set settings?

Ensure that the version detection rules in Photo Supreme are set correctly to prioritize edited images, such as those with a "_DxO" suffix. You can customize the version detection order under Preferences > Version Detection, and make sure that your custom suffix (like "_DxO") is listed higher than the original camera JPG or RAW file.
If the automatic detection does not place your edited image in front, you can manually set it as the main image. After editing and adding new files to the folder, right-click on the image and choose Set as Main Version in the version set.

I think, versions have in PSU not the best implementation. I hope Hert will completely rebuild it at some point

In you case I means you have 2 possibilities
1. Select your version set, and then again "version detection"
2. create a new "place holder" like "edited versions", than you can set as rule your DxO edited files (something like in my screenshot)
