Hi, I have been a loyal user of IDImager, then Photo Supreme for a number of years, and I find it to be the best DAM product.
Now, here's an issue that PhotoSupreme most probably can solve, but I am not sure how.
I have found out that, upon adjusting the time zone on a secondary camera, I have inadvertently moved the date back by one month. So, instead of showing 15.08.20023 it indicates 15.07.2023. It seems that this has been going on for a couple of years, but since this is a camera I seldom use, it did not become obvious until now, when I was adjusting the time of photos taken with several cameras on PhotoSupreme.
Consequently I have redated all the downloaded images. Now they appear in the right places in my PhotoSupreme timeline.
I then realized that:
1. The images names were wrong. I use a date+camera+photo-numer format, and obviously the name still showed 07 (July) instead of 08 (August).
2. The images were still in the wrong folders, so in the 2023/07/2023-07-15 instead of 2023/07/2023-07-15.
Now my question to experienced PhotoSupreme users:
How should I perform a (1) batch renaming of all of those photos, and a (2) batch moving to the right date folder ?
Note:
I have tried use the "Export to folder" feature, which also allows batch renaming, but this seems to just copy the files to another folder (while PhotoSupreme seems to still point to the original files...). Is there a way to actually move the files?
How to batch rename + relocate redated images?
Re: How to batch rename + relocate redated images?
1. You could move the pictures to a new folder on your desktop - temporarily
2, Use PSU to import those pictures again and tell PSU the correct folder. I assume you have PSU set-up in a way that it automatically renames the files when you import them.
Batch moving in general is easy.
1. Go to Folder View
2. Just select in PSU all the photos you want to move
3. Drag the selected files to the folder you want.

Re: How to batch rename + relocate redated images?
Thank you for your suggestion.
In the meanwhile I have solved the issue proceeding on a day-by-day basis:
I batch-renamed all the photos for a day. The breakthrough was to discover the feature that allowed me to preserve the last 5 digits of the files' original name.
Then, in PSu's folder view, I dragged each day's pictures to the folder they belonged to.
Now the challenge that remains is to determine the actual moment when I had inadvertently shifted the camera's month by -1 month! But that's something that PSu cannot help at.
