Unable to eject USB discs when Photo Supreme is running

There is a 3 years old entry in Mantis describing this issue:

I don't have access to Mantis. Is there a prospect that we shall eventually have an option (such as an option for Photo Supreme to ignore external drives) that will allow an external disc to be ejected safely without first having to exit Photo Supreme?

I've added a note to suggest selecting a drive and ejecting it from within PSU, then PSU could pickup the drive again when the physical removal and re-insertion of a card would be possible.

Thanks Geoff. However, I would much prefer an option ("Preference") for PSU to ignore external drives altogether. (From the previous discussion I imagine some other users would feel the same.)
