Version 4921 this morning ?
Version 4921 this morning ?
Anyone else having problems with this release ? The image counts aren't showing up for me after the first few, processor load goes to 0 as well ....

Ah may be not cured or a similar problem ?
For quite a while I've noticed that updating the image counts seem to have changed and occurs a lot less frequently then it used to especially the "Out of Sync" count, however I've now noticed several times that the counts aren't appearing and don't get updated, its not consistent either ;

I don't see anything wrong with counters here.

Indeed, its very inconsistent here I haven't been able to spot any particular factor that causes it sometimes immediately after loading other times only appears after its been running most of the day, odd ....

Re: Version 4921 this morning ?
I have just updated to 4928 and this build has been painfully slow and very frequently stalls. especially when I try adding new images via "verify files and folders".
The program easily detects the new file, but when I tell it to add the file, it freezes (task manager - not responding). I have to kill the program and restart, and then the new file is there.
Very frustrating and I am worried about database corruption.

Might be worthy of its own thread but I'm having similar issues with build 4923 on the Mac version. I was trying to verify a folder and PS froze 3 times and had to be force quit. I then ended up with images showing zero megabytes and without additional metadata. I eventually got the verify to complete but it didn't fix the data problem. I had to remove the folder from the catalog and re-verify the parent folder which completed and added the images and data correctly.fbungarz wrote: 06 Jul 23 17:45 I have just updated to 4928 and this build has been painfully slow and very frequently stalls. especially when I try adding new images via "verify files and folders".

Re: Version 4921 this morning ?
For me, version 4923 on Windows also freezes, during the quick check. But a cancel and the subsequent versioning worked.
However, the previous import from the SD card worked without problems.
After that, however, I read in the gpx data before the conversion to jpg. The problems I have then pushed on it.

My windows one is also frezing on quick check
Re: Version 4921 this morning ?
I've just updated to 4928 and the same problems existing, missing image counts and freezing requiring a forced close and restart. Similar operations don't cause the same effect it seems to be random but always seems to follow shortly after a "verify".

Re: Version 4921 this morning ?
I hope this can be resolved soon. The program here keeps crashing on a very regular basis. Very slow startup too.
Re: Version 4921 this morning ?
Win11 and 4923... and do not notice any issues... but I thought I would share an experience...
A few days ago, I notice the computer getting a bit sluggish. Something happened... and I saw a blue screen... followed by the dreaded fixing-reboot-fixing-reboot repeating cycle... OK, so I fix this... part a part of the fix was an in-place Win11 re-install.
For those that have never done this... you get your computer back to the initial state but you need to reinstall all applications and drivers. The first thing I do is reinstall my NVidia Geforce drivers.
Found there was a June 29, 2023 update (nvidia studio v536.40)... hhhmmm did not see that before... anyway continued on installing the rest of the apps, including PSU. The PSU download was 4923.
Not sure what happened, but since the reinstall, PSU seems faster/better...
Just did a little test... notices that verify folder does hit the GPU.
Didn't think anything of it until I saw this thread.
This is a long way of saying, it may be worth checking for the latest GPU drivers... It is a long shot, but may be worth a shot. YMMV.

@fbungarz and @wesstl,
I think this issue is worthy of it's own thread.
I came upon this issue yesterday and posted here --> viewtopic.php?p=134663&sid=ef31799781df ... 5b#p134663 before I came upon this thread.
I am experiencing exactly the same symptoms. Namely, the program crashes/locks up when adding a folder/files from the Verify Quick (or Binary) function.
@fbungarz, It's happened to me 4 times, and I will not Add folders/files until it has been resolved.
Worried about db corruption as well.
@wesstl, I can confirm that my after force quitting and opening PSu again, the images were there and I could "Reveal in Finder", but the image size in PSU showed "0 Bytes". After a Sync Metadata, the size updated.
This was not an issue before upgrading from 4921 to 4928.
Have either one of you filed a Mantis bug report??
Let's try to continue discussing this particular issue in the thread I started (linked above) ...
