Photo Supreme 2023

Post by Hesmith1029 »

Just downloaded and upgraded to Photo Supreme 2023. Database conversion went smoothly. About 20-25 minutes for 150,000 images.

Looked at the selections un States. Some of these look real promising. People label without event label I expect will get a lot of use. I like the use of the AND, OR, and NOT operators, will make things much more intuitive.

Scheduled verify will be very useful. However did not see a way to say what time it would be scheduled to run. I would like to set it to run automatically overnight. I leave my machine on 24x7 for other reasons. I really don't want it to kick off when I am active on Photo Supreme. Anyway I can tell it what time to kick off?

PSU2023 update was smooth; 160,000 image database updated in less than 5 minutes.
Thanks Hert!

Thank you for the feedback.

Hmm, that was overlooked and will be added. Currently it starts at the time of creating the schedule.
As a workaround you can start the schedule overnight and set it to run every 24 hours.

Ah great, just playing with that now and slightly bemused as I was thinking of running it in the early hours on a 24 hour cycle!
Would it be possible to create some form of Logging function, so that once completed the log can be reviewed during normal hours to see what has been added/removed etc. ? Otherwise from my initial checks it seems to just complete quietly.

Just a thought ? Would it be possible to have a tick box to allow running a Compact database once all updates have been completed at the end of a scheduled session ?

Update was also successful. How does the "Cross Platform Folder Management" works? I've installed the application on Windows and on Mac, but the folders on the Mac are not mapped and I also found no new Dialog to specify where the files are.

That is a Photo Supreme Server Edition feature. Are you using the Server Edition? If so then:
1. Open FOLDERS.
2. Right click on the top level root folder that was imported on another platform
3. Select "Create Cross Platform Mapping"
4. Point to the equivalent folder on this platform.

e.g Import a share /Volumes/MyShare on macOS
Then on Windows, connect to that Catalog and the top level will be the macOS folder
Now, still on Windows, right click on the root and select "Create Cross Platform Mapping" and point to the equivalent Windows share (\\myserver\MyShare)

Yes I have the Server Edition. I found the options and it works perfectly. Thanks for the hint.

PSU keeps track of the health state of the catalog. You will be notified on startup when a compact is needed. With standard use, you’d never have to manually compact a database, unless Psu asks you to.

Btw, build 4816 can be downloaded (there’s no in-app update trigger)

Not for me. I would be happy if this message could be turned off completely.
My servers do a better job in this regard and for SQlite I also prefer to use it outside the application.

I have been absent for quite a while from the forum but want to say I've been a user since IDImager V5 and the application just gets better and better.

I just upgraded to PSu 2023 this morning. It went without a hitch.

My hat's off to Hert for another excellent update! :D
