Is it possible to I assign a rating or color label to all the selected thumbs?

Yes! If you have multiple files selected then any metadata gets applied to all of them!
Personally I have a "test" folder usually with a few odd images in which I can test things like this without altering the main images that way you can play with changes and see what happens if your not sure what effect making a change will have

Thanks so much for your help. In the video Hert referenced, the ratings and color assignment can be selected when viewing the thumb. In my setup, that is not the case, as shown in the image below. I looked in settings and could see no way to select another thumb view option. Also, I thought that the thumb view might change if I somehow closed the right pane that gives details for the selected image, but I see no way to close that pane.

My video is from V7 and the rating/color labels bar on the thumbs is new there. Looking at your screenshot, you are using an earlier version.
There you can press 1 to 5 on the keyboard to assign a rating with multiple thumbs selected.

Yes, I have version 6. Is there a way to assign a color label to all selected thumbs similar to how ratings can be assigned?
