convert cr2 to jpg on export of file
convert cr2 to jpg on export of file
Can PS V6 convert cr2 files to jpg on export to folder? I have a collection of photos, some cr2, some tiff, some jpg that I want to export to a folder and import into power point. power point does not understand cr2 files and won't import them.
Re: convert cr2 to jpg on export of file
You will need a raw converter for the CR2 files, PSU can not do that.

@sigi: CR2 have full size JPG conversions stored inside them. No need to recreate those if no editing is involved.
@ pquart; You can click Share (below the thumbs), then select “Copy as JPG to Folder”

Re: convert cr2 to jpg on export of file
Hert, now in V7, I upgraded. I select a .CR2 image in my portfolio collection, select the share icon, the only copy is "copy to folder", I select folder, then it copies the .CR2 as a CR2. I don't see a "Copy as JPG to Folder" option.
I want to copy the entire collection (contains CR2, TIFF, JPG) to a folder and have the CR2 raw files changed to JPG, JPG and TIF unchanged--copy to folder only, and a sequence number added to the front of all the file names so the manual sort order of the collection is maintained. This would make it easy to import the folder into PowerPoint to create a presentation of these images with the slides in the same order as my manual sort in the collection.
Under the Batch option, I can select folder to output to and there is a format conversion option where I can pick JPG. This looks like it will work, but it uses the original file name so the manual sort order of the collection is lost.
I do like the ability to change the file name that is in the right click on image(s), select Operations, select Export to Folder, use the file naming option to add a sequence number to the image file name so the manual sort order is maintained in the output folder, but this won't convert the CR2 to JPG.

That comes with the installation. Perhaps you have deleted it before? It should be installed again by re-installing the application.pquart wrote: 01 May 22 19:07Hert, now in V7, I upgraded. If it doesn't then you can easily create your own "Copy as JPG to Folder".
1. Right click on "Copy to Folder", which you say you do have
2. Select "Duplicate"
3. Name it as "Copy as JPG to Folder"
4. Right click on your new profile
5. Select Details
6. Set the with a fixed extension,
6a. Click hamburger menu for the file name rule
6b. Select Edit as Text
6c Enter this:
Code: Select all
%FileName.jpg
7. Click OK
All a matter of configuring your file naming rule in the Sharing profile. Eg a fixed JPG extension naming rule with a sequence number:I want to copy the entire collection (contains CR2, TIFF, JPG) to a folder and have the CR2 raw files changed to JPG, JPG and TIF unchanged--copy to folder only, and a sequence number added to the front of all the file names so the manual sort order of the collection is maintained. This would make it easy to import the folder into PowerPoint to create a presentation of these images with the slides in the same order as my manual sort in the collection.
Code: Select all
%ImageNumber{offset=1;increment=1;skip=never;length=4;reset=never}_%FileName.jpg
A batch can contain multiple commands. If you want to use the Batcher then you should add both the File Format Conversion and the Rename File batch command to your batch and configure it accordingly.Under the Batch option, I can select folder to output to and there is a format conversion option where I can pick JPG. This looks like it will work, but it uses the original file name so the manual sort order of the collection is lost.
Of course, a sharing profile is easier to use.
Export to Folder does exactly what the sharing profile does (internally it is a fixed transfer profile). If you want to use that then make sure to configure the File Naming to use the fixed JPG extension.I do like the ability to change the file name that is in the right click on image(s), select Operations, select Export to Folder, use the file naming option to add a sequence number to the image file name so the manual sort order is maintained in the output folder, but this won't convert the CR2 to JPG.
