Locating images using a geo-fence ?

Has anyone found a mechanism for locating any images within the database using a geo-fence, either based on a central point, using a bounding box or even a random outline ?

I find I often have a need to locate images based on an area around a geographical point, across the entire database, but not using names but based really on Lat-Long co-ordinates. The ideal would be either to locate a central point on a map and specify/draw a radius, or use a rectangular box or possibly even a Polygon drawn on a map, then to show the locations on the map of all images within the database that fall inside the geo-fence and be able to then put all such images into an image basket for perusal ?

Would this be a feature that would be of interest to others and could be included in PSU ?

This would indeed be a very useful feature. AFAIK one cannot currently do that with the functionality built in. Perhaps add a feature request in Mantis? You'd have my vote

Thank you for pointing out/adding this repository script! I did not know this existed and am one of those who have voted for this feature in the Mantis system. I would also like it via a map interface but thanks again for this version at this time.

Nice feature. From which thumbnail menu does the "From Repository" sub-menu appear? eg. from thumb right+click > Show More... > From* - I have From Date/ From Folder/ From this Stack/ From this Version Set/ From Catalog Label, but not From Repository. Do I need to enable Repository support somewhere? I couldn't find anything obvious in preferences. Thanks in advance.

This script is a "Search Script" and such scripts can only be ran from the tab bar.
The screenshot shows where to click (1) to get to the Search Nearby Images.

Thanks Hert but I am still be missing your point sorry. I tried to help myself 1st - checked thru the QuickStart, QuickStart-Advanced Filtering & QuickStart-Searching PDFs but no mention of "tab bar". I have PSu open identically to your screen capture as shown below, but still unsure where to click or right-click in order to bring up the "From Repository" context menu?

First of all: your screenshot doesn't show the version you're using. As always: if not already....update to the latest build.

For those who never work with tabs:

And if you don't have the drop down button (your screenshot doesn't show it): you may have disabled that (never recommended).

Even when running the latest build and you have the repository enabled....check your firewall. You may have blocked PSU from accessing the internet.

Excellent. Thanks a lot Hert. That was my problem. This new feature is brilliant!

For some reason "Integrate Online Repository" was unchecked. I've never noticed this setting & certainly not intentionally unchecked it. You will observe the "down arrow" button to the right of the "+" (create new tab) button in your original screen cap is mostly obscured by your arrow annotation. I didn't mention the version of PSu I was running, but I always try to have the latest before reporting anything. I downloaded the latest versions of most of the quick manuals, but could not find any mention of this tab bar "down arrow" button, although it is shown in a few screen captures. I couldn't find any description of the preference settings either, incl. "Integrate Online Repository".

Hert, are the scripts cached at all when they have been called ? Quite often I'm offline on a site and although I have a number of them downloaded into the Resources|Scripts folder I get the impression that they might not be available to be used if they rely on a Internet link? Just tried and I get a Download 500 error so I guess there not ? Perhaps this is to always allow the latest but I wonder if it would be a major problem to cache them or point to a folder where they could be called from if needed?
