I have a problem and I do not know how to fix it, a help from you would be very ok. The server on which the database is located is blocked for 2 months and can not work. I have a backup (mac os) of the database I would like to install on my laptop with windows ... can anything be done? give you the files that make up the database ...

I assume you created the backup with Photo Supreme?

In that case:
1. Install PostgreSQL and PSU on your laptop according to the installation instructions
https://manualsu.idimager.com/version3/ ... upreme.pdf

2. Start PSU and create a new database
3. Once in PSU, use the Tools->Restore option

Hi Hert -

I just upgraded from v3 stand-alone to v4 postgres server. Do I use the tool mentioned in the older posts, or can I just use the tools-restore option just posted?

Thanks.

Hi Andrew, thank you for going with the Server edition.
The restore option above was recommended for server-server. Since you’re coming from single and want to switch to server, the tools mentioned is the way to go. But....that tool works for identical database versions, which is not the case for you (V3 to v4).
What I recommend is that you
1. Backup V3 first
2. Install v4 single (trial) and start it and let it upgrade your V3 database
3. Install v4 pro and start it at least once
4. Start the tool and convert from SQLite to PostgreSQL (haven tested this tool with Postgres 10 yet btw)
5 start V4 server and your data should be there

Does that work? I’m not 100% sure about step 4 as it wasn’t tested with PG10

Thanks for the quick reply. I can certainly do that. I'll let you know (and I've already done #1, both locally and to S3!).

I made it through step #3, but the download links for the conversion tools referenced in this post give 404s. Where can I get the updated conversion tools?

Thanks.

The linked data migration software should also work with V6.

Hert,
I have a Synology NAS with 32 GIG of ram 5 gig ethernet.

Are there any instructions to put the server edition in the NAS?

Any advice you can provide, pros cons?

Juan, in the past some people have posted some instructions on how to install PostgreSQL on a Synology here on the forum.
Here's a sample:
viewtopic.php?t=24388

A search on Google using search statement
synology install postgresql

...gives some leads like this one (only scanned through it quickly)
https://mariushosting.com/how-to-instal ... ology-nas/

I have no idea of this is still valid or not.

My experience with Synologies is outdated as I quit using NAS about 5 years ago.
