How do I consolidate folders with same name?

In the Folders tab, PS lists multiple instances of the same local E: drive. The folders under E: are not identical, I guess because I added them from different physical drives over the years. Even folders of same name may contain different images.

I want to consolidate all subfolders and their catalogued images into one E: drive item. How can I do this? If I try dragging a folder to a different 'E:' in PS folders tab, it fails with message "The destination folder is the same as the source folder.".

Try a right click on the E drive that you no longer need. Then choose “Map to the correct physical folder” and point to the E drive

That just gives me 'Mapped 0 folders' and nothing changes.

If the same PSU folders contain different images, what is the situation in the physical folder - what shows in Explorer?
Two of the E drives show different id codes in your image. Are they different drives that have similar folders?

Since PSU doesn't import the images but works with them in their original location, if you select the top level and initiate a verify missing folders and files, does that clear up the discrepancy?

Apologies for appearing to ignore your reply months ago. I appreciate your reply, simply got distracted. It is still bugging me.

In Explorer this image exists: E:\temp\imageA.jpg.
In PSU, folder E:\temp is listed twice, but imageA.jpg is listed only once.

No. My PC has only one E: drive.
All the folders listed in PSU under each E: top-level folder exist in Explorer inside my E: drive.

Verifying each PSU top-level E: folder identifies a bunch of missing files and folders etc, but different results in each!

Question: if I delete all the multiple E: folders in PSU, and then use Import Folder on the physical E: drive, will all the images PSU knows are in E: drive subfolders be preserved and their metadata etc?

I found that the following procedure worked to consolidate the multiple folders:

1. identify which of the multiple E: drive entries is the 'current' one (by adding one test file to the catalog)
2. select the 'old' E: drive entry in PSU folders tab
3. display and select all images in that folder in the Collection Viewer
4. Ctrl-S (Save Metadata to File), which also updates the media location to the 'current' folder
5. Remove the 'old' E: drive entry from the PSU folders tab
