Since I was curious I decided to install the new V6 version to try it out. Below my finding while working on some pictures, mainly labeling and GEO-tagging.
2017 iMac 4k Retina 3,4 Quad-Core with 8 GB memory (base model). Running from Samsung SSD over Thunderbolt.
Photo's (RAW and JPEG) are stored on Synology DS920 with HDD's. No hardware change between V5 and V6.
Conversion: The database was converted in seconds. I did an optimize of database and thumbnails before upgrading.
Speed: it's a lot faster than V5, really noticeable.
Changing the folder states works but the color doesn't change while doing it. After switching view the color is correct.
Google GEO reverse lookup kept on functioning without the need for reentering API-key
Adding labels works but it doesn't add the labels to recently used which is a bit annoying since I use that a lot.
For the moment I'm happy with the improvement in speed but some functions need attention.

My experiences with V6
Re: My experiences with V6
I could reproduce the folder state not sticking visually after assigning. That is fixed in build 3546.
"Recently used" in the Label Assignment Panel is being updated though. maybe you can retry that?
And thanks for noticing the speed difference. That's indeed significant.

Re: My experiences with V6
I did try adding labels again and indeed this time it works. Not sure why I noticed something different yesterday. I'll keep an eye on it.
The update indeed fixed the folder state updating. Thanks.
