Background
I have my 2020 folders imported into PSU
In the folder in question there were no color or star ratings when imported to PSU
I have been working with PSU and Capture One to figure out what is working for me:-
- Creating color tags, star ratings and keywords applied and written in PSU are being read automatically and correctly in Capture One
- I then applied a color and star rating to several images in a different folder in Capture One and clicked Sync Metadata . It wrote the appropriate ( I think) xmp files to the correct folder on my drive.
- The only way I could find to have PSU read and apply the xmp files created by Capture One was to go to the actual folder and highlight the particular images, Rt click/ Metadata/Read metadata from file. _ the metadata was read and applied. I could find no other way but select the actual files.
Question - What do I need to do to have PSU automatically read and apply the newly created xmp files from Capture One? If PSU can't do it automatically then what global command do I use to cause PSU to read and apply?
My big concern was Capture One not doing it's part, however, it is working flawlessly. I just need PSU to do the same.
Thanks
Bob
Reading xmp from Capture One - queation
Re: Reading xmp from Capture One - queation
1. Open Folders
2. Right click on your folder and select Verify Folder -> Verify Folder Quick
2. Right click on your folder and select Verify Folder -> Verify Folder Quick

Re: Reading xmp from Capture One - queation
Hert
I had done this previously.
I works and doesn't work.
Several observations
1 In Capture One I used a collection green 5 star files , selected them and did a sync metadata. I checked in my explorer and yes the xmp files are in the various folders. I also read several of the xmps and they do contain the green 5 star coding.
2 I then went to PSU and on a folder that I knew should have the green 5 star files I did a verify all - they all showed up
3 I then opened a second folder that should have several green 5 star images, ran the verify all - it ran but no dialog to process came up. I check the folder and there was only one green 5 star. I then checked in explorer and all five of the xmp files were there and I read each one and they are correct. I re-ran verify all several times nothing comes up. Final result is that only one image is updated and four were not.
4 I check all ten folders where the xmps were written to - seven were fine with the images being tagged properly and three had either none tagged or only one image tagged.
5 I then repeated #1 on another collection and I received very similar results!!
6 When I did the import of my folders/files into PSU why did it not pick up the color and star ratings and apply them on the import?
Something is really not working properly in PSU.

Sorry for my lousy typing - I should have a spell check on my fingers

Just a bit more info re my previous posts
Here is an example of one folder where there were 6 xmp's written to the folder and after the verify all only one was tagged.
The one that was tagged is
RJH_2020Jun19_ILCE-7RM3_KMS tools Hot Rods_31.arw
Here is a list of the 6 xmp's I checked each of the xmp's and each is correct with the green color and 5 star code
Here is a copy of the xmp for each of these files - the only difference being the actual file name.
