First the import of LR keywords worked. I shifted the same within psu given structure (People, events). I can cut, copy and move the keywords, but there is no way to delete any keyword. To be sure I created an empty database and just added "test" under "Events". I cannot delete this new term anymore, irrespectively if using the standard setting under Synchronize settings (write, read) or change them. I read tsome forum comments, but my problem sounds like a bug.
My licence is psu server v4 with a local installation on my macbook (server not yet running) and have been deinstalling the database several times because I assumed a problem with my user rights. There is no sense to start keyword or catalogue label assignment to my pictures unless being able to delete unnecessary labels. Any help is welcome.
No way to delete a category label
Re: No way to delete a category label
A warm welcome to the forum.
You can delete a Catalog Label by right click -> Delete; you can also select the Catalog Label and press Delete (or Cmd+Bksp)
Is that what you're looking for?

Re: No way to delete a category label
Thanks for your quick reply Hert! I applied your advice already to delete a catalogue label. Also the fruitful discussion in the forum about label and keyword difference do not solve my problem. I cannot delete any Label. So I am pretty sure that it is Not PSU but either a User problem or I corrupted the OSX system. So after reinstall a fresh OSX I come back with the result.
Re: No way to delete a category label
Reinstalling the OS seems extreme to me (unless you have other problems outside PSU) and it may not solve your labelling issues. Have you tried deleting any label outside the People and Events categories? Does that fail too? Can you turn off the automatic writing of metadata? Does that help?
Re: No way to delete a category label
I am having the same problem of not being able to delete any categories. 4.1 b1436. Only solution is to start a new DB.
No error message, delete option in the right click is active but nothing happens.
Tried disabling write category labels made no difference.
Tried importing Lightroom categories, Formatted text and UltraTag categories and they all behave the same - not deleting.
Any issue with access permission in DB?

Re: No way to delete a category label
I have a tried this in my large production db as well as in a totally new one.
It works perfect for Admin as well as Catalog Managers as it should.
Users with Catalog Browser right are unable to delete a Category.
I'm running PostgreSQL using the postgresapp.com.
On a Mac server for prod db.
And locally on a MacBook Pro for testing.
What db do you run and how was it setup/configed?

Re: No way to delete a category label
My problem is solved. Deleted the catalogue / if you are on a working database, back it up w/ all your setting files, details etc.
Uninstall Photo Supreme from the system / I use AppDelete, but any such utility can work that removes all dependencies
Reinstall the latest version
After the new install I am able to delete categories

Re: No way to delete a category label
After even re-installing my mac OS and figuring around with user rights, I tried your approach. It worked! Thank you endre.

Re: No way to delete a category label
After following Endre's instructions I was able to delete labels again. But I've found a more straight forward way. Reset the "Don't ask Again" questions's from the help menu. I noticed that when I turn off the warning about deleting the labels it would no longer let me delete labels.
