Hello,
I need to download the latest version of Photo Supreme V3. Does anyone know where I can get that?
Thanks, Bob
Where can I get V3
Re: Where can I get V3
The User Control Panel should have links to any versions you purchased. You can get there by going to cp.idimager.com. You'll need your email address and password but there is a link to recover your password if you don't know it. I think the downloads will be recent builds, if not the newest.

Re: Where can I get V3
Thanks for the reply.
I should have been more specific with my question.
I currently am a V2 licensed User. I wish to purchase the new V4 software, but have no intention of installing it or using it until quite a long time has passed. I've never felt comfortable moving 75,000 photos (and all their embedded information) over to a new version that might still be working out some bugs, as is the case with all new software. I'm assuming that if I purchase the V4 software, this will entitle me to use Version #3, which is really what I want to do first. Then, perhaps in 6 months or more, I will install V4, which I would have already paid for. However, I don't know where I can get Version 3. Is there still a place where I can get that. All I have access to is V2.

I wouldn't make that assumption. You can always email Hert (I think his email address is support@idimager.com) or go to the support link at www.idimager.com and use the contact form to ask him that question. I wouldn't expect him to agree to that. It's like saying that you want to use every version but only pay for every other one.weisswelsh wrote: 09 Feb 18 19:43 I'm assuming that if I purchase the V4 software, this will entitle me to use Version #3

Re: Where can I get V3
I can't imagine that would be a problem. Version 3 would now be considered outdated and most likely no longer updated, so why would he not want me to use that if I paid for the latest version (V4)? The alternative is that I keep using V2, which I'm perfectly happy with, and he doesn't get a sale of his V4 software. I have absolutely no intention of installing V4 on my computer at this time, and probably not in the next year, if at all. I tag photos with keywords. That's the extent of my Photo Supreme usage. I can (and have been) using V2 to do that just fine.tstoddard wrote: 09 Feb 18 21:56I wouldn't make that assumption. It's not like saying "I want to use every version, but only pay for every other one."
It's like saying, "I don't want to use your V4 software at this time and maybe never, since V2 does everything I need perfectly. However, I also know independent software developers need cash flow to make improvements to their program worthwhile. So, while I don't need your product at this time, I want to help out by giving you a sale, even though I don't need it anytime in the near future. In the meantime, how about I use old V3 software?"
It's a win-win. He gets to have an immediate sale that he wouldn't otherwise have (if ever,) and I get to use a newer version that probably tags photos exactly the same way as the version I'm already using.
You make it sound like I'm trying to get something extra. Quite the opposite. I have no need for V4. And I probably don't have any need for V3, since I just put keywords on photos. I just want to help out someone that puts out a wonderful product. I am a firm believer in supporting the little guy. But I'm also not going to be a complete moron either. If I'm handing someone some money a year earlier than I need to, simply because I want him to have some extra cash flow early on, AND that same person won't want me using the latest previous version in the meantime, then perhaps that is not someone I want to help out.
Like I said, I can't imagine he wouldn't agree to that. I'm just trying to help him make this product financially beneficial to him, so that he can continue to make a wonderful product. It's the same reason I pay extra for products in Mom & Pop stores that are much cheaper in big box stores.
Re: Where can I get V3
I don't want to get into a debate over this since it's really Hert's prerogative anyway. I'm just speaking my personal opinion as someone who has paid to use each version. I would think that the more fair solution would be for Hert to sell you version 3, perhaps at a discounted price, if it is version 3 that you want to use. Maybe I'm being a little unreasonable but I imagine others might feel the same. For all I know, Hert has already agreed to do what you've asked. Either way, it would probably be best not to do this negotiation in public, but rather directly with Hert.
I should give you a little background. I downloaded the trial of the last version of IDImager shortly before Photo Supreme was introduced. I had no idea that Photo Supreme was on it's way. I spent a few weeks learning how to use IDImager, getting it all set up to suit my needs and importing some of my photos into it. I decided to buy it and then went to do so and found that Photo Supreme had come out. I was not able to purchase IDImager or get a license to use it even though I was willing to pay for IDImager. If I had been allowed to purchase it, I would not have expected to get a license to use Photo Supreme just because I bought IDImager after Photo Supreme had been released. I would have expected to get IDImager and then pay for Photo Supreme when and if I decided I wanted to upgrade.

Re: Where can I get V3
I know what you are saying, but your situation was completely different. I absolutely agree with you that if you purchased a lower version (IdImager) that you shouldn't be allowed to move up to the newer version (PhotoSupreme) for free. In my situation, I would literally be paying for the newer and better V4, so being able to use the older, non-supported version without any more updates in the meantime doesn't hurt him. In fact, it puts money in his pocket that he wouldn't even have, since I'm not installing V4 for likely a year.
My whole purpose in suggesting this was so that he can get paid way earlier than he otherwise would. Just trying to do my share of supporting independent software developers.
Also, when you paid for all the versions you paid for, you actually used them during their useful life and got support and bug fixes. That would not be the case for me.
But I agree, we just have different opinions about it, and debating it isn't really something that should be done in the forum. I'll send him a message and do whatever he wants. If he wants me to stay at V2, then that's what I'll do. If he would prefer getting paid for V4, while I use the previous version V3, then that's what I'll do. Like I said, I'm not really needing V4 or V3.... Just wanted to help him make a profit, without him having to wait a year.
