"map to physical file" does not work

Post by ketsko »

Hello,
I have recently moved my PSU setup from one computer to another. This went smoothly, generally speaking, but some images in the catalog seem to have lost contact with the actual files they refer to. This appears to be random, and I am prepared to fix it by using the option "map to physical file". However, this does not work, even though I can find the files easily. I now remember that it has never worked for me, not on my old computer either (where a lost connection was a problem now and then, but so seldom that it didn't bother me much). Ideas, anyone?

Cheers,
Ketil

After switching pc then the hard drive is also different. PSU checks for the drive serial as well. To fix

1. Open FOLDERS
2. Right click the top folder node
3. Select Map to Physical Folder
4. Select the matching folder on the new hard drive

Done that. And it worked fine. But it appeared that some image files were still not linked to the catalog ("missing or medium not loaded plus red dot). However, it turns out this is only the case in catalog view. When finding the same images in folder view, everything is fine. But from catalog view it is impossible to reestablish the link. And it seems completely random which images that show up fine in catalog view (most of them do) and which do not.

Could it be that in FOLDERS you have multiple top level nodes? If so, remap all of them according to the steps in my first reply.
