Might be wishful thinking, but when I right click on a photo in the catalog view and bring up the context menu, is there a way to show all photos taken within a given time on either side of the selected photo instead of just all photos with the matching date? I'm tagging 1000s of photos taken on the same day, and it would be helpful to be able to view that narrow window around a particular photo so that I can view it within context of what was taken within a few minutes before/after.
I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Context Menu Time Search
Re: Context Menu Time Search
It's wishful thinking, although I understand your wish. (I also like to focus on a small number of images at a time, although I've never taken >1000 photos on the very same day, afaik.)
What you could do is set the sort order of your current collection to Photo Date, manually select all photos taken within some timeframe(*) and then open those images in a new collection tab. Unfortuntaley, there's no contextual action dedicated to opening the current selection in a seperate tab. (FYI, I've just submitted FR #2999 in Mantis.) What works for me, though, is Show more -> Similar images, which usually has the same effect (for me).
(*) I guess you could submit a FR for further refining the Catalog -> By Date view to further group images by hour (...although that may start a slippery slope: why not also by minute? etc.) If implemented, the view could be renamed By Photo Time (similar to By Import Time, if that request (see #2799 + first note) ever gets implemented).
Hope that helps.

Re: Context Menu Time Search
I file this under "nice to have, not essential." Sometimes I come across a photo that I can't place or identify what's going on. Being able to quickly bring up the bracketed photos through a context menu action would just save me a few steps. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll keep an eye on the feature requests you mentioned as well.

I don't know whether it would work for you, but during import (or retrospectively) you could add a data and time stamp to the file name.jmtpct wrote:Might be wishful thinking, but when I right click on a photo in the catalog view and bring up the context menu, is there a way to show all photos taken within a given time on either side of the selected photo instead of just all photos with the matching date? Never say never change, but using Mac since 2005. Photo Supreme 3.3.0.2605. I endorse the interoperability of files between applications and systems.
