%EventName in file and directories for import

Post by liljenstolpe »

Photo Supreme Server (postgres) 3.2.0.2073.pg on current OS X 10.10

I've been trying to use %EventName in my subfolder and filename recipes (using the custom option in the pull-down menus), the %EventName gets changed to a Text item EventName. It looks fine when I apply the change, but when I then go and re-open the custom option, it's changed to a "T" rather than a "%". In all cases there is either a text item either before or after the EventName, which, when I set it up are separate fields, but when I look at again are combined with the EventName. An example, my subfolder is
spaces show the field separations, and are not in the actual fields..
%yyyy / %yyyy - %mm - %EventName / pending

It ends up as %yyyy / %yyyy - %mm -EventName/pending

In the single-user version, it works correctly, but, if you use %EventName {lowercase=y} option, then you get the event name expanded correctly, but the text "{lowercase=y}" appended to the end.

Ideas?

Just use the single-user version. (Sorry, but I couldn't resist.)

Hi Mike, do you use the lowercase option in the EventName? If so, does that work for you? When I have an event called Foo using %EventName is: 2015/2015-09-Foo/pending/ - that's correct.

When I use %EventName (with the lowercase option) is: 2015/2015-09-Foo{lowercase-y}/pending/ but only for some of the files.

I'm not sure the two are related, but it feels like they could be.

I am using the single-user version.

Import

Subfolder: %yyyy/%yyyy-%mm-%EventName{lowercase=y}/pending

Results (folders):

2015
2015-09-Foo{lowercase=y}
pending

The postgres version: I am wondering if something is going on with the special characters. Based on your info it does not appear to be consistent so it probably isn't that.

I would try this on some sample images to see what happens: %yyyy/%yyyy%mm%EventName/pending

Sorry, but I don't use that macro command and don't have the time to test it for you.

I replaced %EventName with %exif:Model and used {lowercase=y}.

Result: The model was in lower case and {lowercase=y} was not appended. Works.

I replaced %EventName with %exif:Model and used {uppercase=y}.

Result: The model was in upper case and {uppercase=y} was not appended. Works.

%EventName seems to ignore the "modification".

Another odd thing: After removing %EventName from the recipe, one is still prompted to enter an Event Name during import.

I noticed the point about still being prompted for eventname. As far as the single user test, that's exactly the response I see.

Should I post a bug on Mantis, or will they pick it up from here?
