Problem appeared coincident with upgrade to new desktop computer, a 2015 27" iMac, and with upgrade to OSX 10.11.1. I moved everything over to the new computer using Apple's Migration Assistant app, which preserves all files and their interrelationships. I have two photolibraries, the primary one having dozens of folders and over 9,000 images.
Problem: Now when I import a folder with new images in it, it no longer goes into the existing catalog hierarchy of the photolibrary. Rather, PS starts a new catalog hierarchy right from the hard disk of the machine, containing a folder of the same name as the existing photolibrary. How do I make imports go into their proper place in the existing catalog hierarchy?
