Confused about folder import

I imported some images in a folder earlier this morning, and PS behaved as I expected - it added the folder to the FOLDERS view.

Then, later, I did the same thing, with a different folder of images, and it appeared the images were imported properly. But the folder they are in does not appear in the FOLDERS view. I know the images were successfully imported because if I look at "In Last Import" the images are there. How do I get PS to add/display the parent folder of these images?

A side issue: There is an old folder in the list that is marked in red. I had moved that folder to a different drive, and in fact that is the first folder I successfully imported this morning. So I want to get rid of the old folder reference that no longer exists. I right-click it, and PS "seems" to remove it, but when I restart PS, it reappears.

Sounds like you've got a top level folder defined as the top root. Try to right click on the top folder and see if "Make this the top level folder" is checked
