Sorry to hear about the crashes, Stephen. I hope you'll get this major issue sorted out asap and won't jump ship. Good luck!

I don't know

And aren't you curious? What prevents you from checking?

PSU crashing and lack of time. It's Saturday here, the day when major backups are always done. Also, my priority has shifted to the colour rendering of edited images in PSU. I have posted a message in Mantis and I'm hoping to find a resolution, as this could be a turning point away from PSU.
Update:
I did check, but it makes no sense to investigate further. There are 1000s of similar images which are also duplicates images. Most come from my imported Aperture library. Because of it's different nature, similar/duplicate images were filed in Albums and before exporting from Aperture using the useful tool Aperture Exporter, they were also converted into tiffs.

More important however are new imports AFAIK, there are few missing files now. I had an Excel spreadsheet made to document memory card #, file # and date and total # of images. This was manually verified with PSU by aligning images in 2 columns, as photos are usually shot in pairs, raw and jpg.

It is not yet perfect, only quite good, BUT it took AGES! This is the first thing I will look at when investigating software, as the time lost is incalculable, in addition to the time spent in this forum talking to the other great people in here.
Never say never change, but using Mac since 2005. Photo Supreme 3.3.0.2605. I endorse the interoperability of files between applications and systems.
