When I click a tab in a version set, sometimes all tabs disappear and only one thumb is displayed where the version set used to be. And this is not even always the version that was clicked - it can be another version in the set. Clicking the folder or the portfolio in the left pane brings back the full set with tabs, but the same thing happens if I click the tab again. However, not all tabs in a given set triggers this behavior. Some work just fine and displays the selected version without affecting the others.
Ideas?

Re: Version sets disappear
Just a wild guess: Compact your catalog if you haven't done so recently.
Re: Version sets disappear
Thanks Mike.
That actually seems to have helped. I was not aware that there is a repair function in the compacting procedure. At least, it seems to have eliminated most of the problem. The behavior still occurs, but now only when PSU thinks that a particular file is missing (red dot and "medium not loaded" or whatever it says). However, the files are never missing, and PSU can itself locate them in Windows explorer. Trying to map these thumbnails to the correct folder never works, however, although the correct folder/file is easy to locate. Red dot remains, etc. I realize that this is a different problem in a sense, but it seems to somehow lay behind the one I initially experienced. So what's this all about?

Re: Version sets disappear
I have no idea if the two issues are related. In the future, it would be a very good idea to implement a regimented maintenance procedure that includes regularly compacting your catalog, cleaning up unused thumbs and previews, building thumbs and previews and, if you typically write catalog information to the image files, synching all files that are out of synch.
In the mean time, try removing the errant files from the database and then importing them. Considering that Supreme doesn't "know" their location, it may not be possible to remove them from the catalog but it can't hurt to try.

Good idea. I thought I did it pretty regularly, bur maybe not often enough. Thanks for the advice.

In addition to doing routine maintenance on a regular basis, any time you change the hierarchy of your catalog labels it would be a good idea to back up your catalog and then compact it. That seems to be especially important if you merge catalog labels.
