Re-importing files that have already been imported

I have been importing files that were, in another life, imported in to a Lightroom catalog. A bunch of them turned up in the built in Misc. category in PS. I didn't want them there, and, in a fit of madness, deleted them from the database. Unfortunately, they are scattered over a dozen folders in my image library, so hunting them down and reimporting them one-by-one would be daunting indeed. All of which leads me at ask what would happen if I simply imported all the files from say my 2013 folder most of which are already in my PS catalog? That is, is there a mechanism in PS that can inhibit the importation of duplicates? Please say yes!

Click import and select the 2013 folder. Make sure Copy is off.
